Above is a picture of me as a young baby with a teddy that I have made...good old Photoshop!
My darling dad was searching through his photographs and came up with this one for me. I was just two and a half years old and just look at my teddy. I still have him today, he's very well loved and worn, he has just one eye (should I fix him?) and his limbs are very loose. You all would be horrified to see how this bear is jointed. He has thick wires going from joint to joint. If the wires were to have broken my teddy could have become lethal...I shudder to think that toys could have been made this way. He is made from lamb's wool, not woven but actually on the skin of the animal. Boy I'm so glad toy regulations have changed.
Have any of you got pictures of yourself with your childhood teddy or another toy, maybe you could share them here?
I know Paula has a great picture of herself and her wonderful old bear, I think he was a chiltern...am I right?
Hugs Jane.
What lovely pics Jane! I love the way you've edited your bear into the first pic ... he looks as though he's always been there!
You remembered right about my pic by the way, I have this pic of me at 17 months old with my Chiltern (I have him still and he's just as handsome today!)
And this is me and my little sister with him .. I think I was about 15 ...
This one was taken about nine years ago or so ...
And finally, here he is taken last year, with his new friend, after Stuart and I moved into our new house together.
Great post Jane. Heres me and Panda, I had him for my first Christmas so he will be 40 this year!
Great pictures! Wow, Jane - that photo you edited to put your bear in looks real and the teddy even looks like an old bear. Kind of scary when you think of buying bears with provenance - looks like it would be really easy to fake that provenance!
Wish I could post a photo of me and my childhood teddy but I didn't have a teddy until I made myself one at age 13 and no one ever took a photo of it! (That's why I collect teddies now - to make up for my childhood deprivation! )
Adorable little babies and girls you were (are), Jane, Paula, and Amanda! And those bears . . . what treasures! Love the photos!
I also didn't have a teddy or any other plush toys as a child, but had a few dolls. The first bear I ever had was a Gund that I bought myself in 1986 after my Daddy died.
Very sweet photos Jane, Paula and Amanda with your very lovely bears.
Thanks for sharing.
Hugs
Carolyn

Jane, cute topic!
Isn“t it nice to see oneself as a baby, in a naiv world, where the biggest problem was not to wet oneself?
I had to re-read your first phrase :
