head.jpegHi all. I've been a Blog lurker in the last few days, I've got Hugglets envy. Its one way to see whats going on and what you are all taking. I've even been dreaming about the place, very sad. bear_wacko

I have noticed loads of you are having lots of bad luck. Even I must be reacting in sympathy as I'm ditching body parts faster than Sweeney Todd. Although Ellen could give him a run for his money..... bear_tongue

So if you need time to vent or chill and 'calm down', just shout it out here.

'one of those bearmaking weeks'

It's only MONDAY, Amanda!!  Surely it can't be that bad already!!!??? bear_ermm

I worked on bears most of the weekend... course I have about 6 more weeks until my show. I'm in envy of all those going to Hugglets too.

I think this week is going to consist mainly of recreating my computer files and re-doing all kinds of documents I need.  bear_wacko  Oh, and tax prep.

Is it Monday...?You could've fooled me...this week has rolled right into last week..and each day is rolling into the next as my days get longer and longer. My sewing machine couldn't stand the heat so it's now out of the kitchen...literally...Good job I have a stand-by...but suffice it to say three bunnies are not coming to Hugglets now.

But at this point ...you know what...I just don't care any more!!!

See you Sunday if you are going..don't forget to stop by to say 'Hello'!!!! bear_original

Yep, one of those weeks...well as Jenny said

this week has rolled right into last week

After loosing my mojo for a while I've struggled through and gotten all my show critters ready. Yippee!!!!!!!!!

But what's gone wrong for me is the paperwork. I make all my own swing tags and business cards on my computer as I expect many of you do...BUT...once designed, printed and cut out ready to be laminated I didn't expect them to disappear off the face of the earth, but that's what happened. I can't find them anywhere. The whole family have searched for them to no avail, so I have had to print and cut them all again. Great I thought so I laminated the swing tags made a hole in one corner tide the strings to them to hold them on the bears THEN...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO there's a spelling mistake...how could I not have seen it. It must be a case that I saw what I thought it should have said and completely overlooked the mistake. I could have made another bear in the time it's taken me to do the rotten tags. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!

Calming down now... now I've got to go pack up the other bears and gollies which I've sold this week....I told Yvonne I thought someone was winding me up because I've never, in all the years I've been making bears, sold so many in such a short time. Four gollies and five bears since last Thursday. I should be smiling but right on top of Hugglets it's too much...Jane wants peace and quiet...sigh!

Hugs, Jane.  bear_flower

I've been battling with a very tricky piece of brand new fabric.  It's an amazing colour but the pile runs all over the place ... seemed like a good idea at the time when I thought 'must have', but now?  *Groans* What a stressy couple of days I've had with it!  I realised my original plans for the head weren't working when I found myself with a pair of scissors in hand, just about the cut the blasted thing into shreds ... I managed to talk myself down though, "put the scissors down slowly Paula, get up from your chair, step back carefully, slowly does it, walk out the door, close the door .... breathe ..."

Yetserday morning I had to go into town, but by the time I came home I was ready to front up to my madness again and see what I had left to salvage and ... well, oddly enough, now I have a very nice bear, thank you!  He'll be finished today and ready for the show at the weekend.  Heaven only knows what will happen with my next one - I'm at the "can I get one, or can I get two done?" stage now.  I want to fit a trip in down to my sister's in Hampshire before the end of the week too .. never driven that far on my own before, what with that and finishing my final bears, I think by Sunday's show I'll be just about zonked!

Oh Amanda...funny you should ask. I have terrible tendonitis in both arms and have not been able to sew in months many, many months!!! I feel awful not being able to create things....What is worse, I have ideas that are roaming around in my head and I can't express them!!! So it is not a bad week, it is a bad year for me....

It just seems sometimes things catch up with us. Hope you feel better soon Michelle, these things take ages to get better. I'm cheating today and ignoring 'the big bear', let it see how I feel when it does'nt behave.  bear_tongue I'm working on the sweet little good bears, the ones that are nice to me! I'll let big bear fester for awhile then tackle it when I'm in a fighting mood. bear_angry

Bears? What are those?? Gee, I haven't even seen my bear making stuff ever since I gave birth.
Coming on here sure makes me want to dig out it though but I'll stick to planning a bear show in my spare time.

LOL - I set this week aside to get business & personal data ready for tax acct appt in a month.
So ask me what I've done, doing the finishing touches on a pair of pandas and another almost completed for a customer. NFed of course, minis.
And computer work.

Maybe... next week? Dh is going to start to question where my half is (he does just the investments)
We've got the best tax acct. She's a 'Den Mum/Hug Mum'? of a Milwaukee GBW chapter - so she totally understands the starvingartist, operating-in-the-red portion!!!

Oh, and for the second time since the Christmas surgery, I've had a swelling in a foot and leg so that I can't put weight on it. I used crutches over the weekend & am now back to the cane. Neither Surgeon nor my internist know what caused it to happen once to each of them - so of course I can't sit at a table with an adding machine!

I have to use the most comfortable chair in the house, the 1 here at the computer, or the couch in the back sunroom where I sew.....perhaps the strike came at a good time for me!

Aaaaaarrrggghhhhh!!! I have 'pre-showitus' ... that well know affliction where everything you touch the week before a show goes horribly wrong!  I bet lots of you will recognise the symptoms!  I've just written about my latest calamity in my blog ... why do these things always happen when time is running out????  bear_sad

Hi everyone! bear_flower

Wow, I am almost relieved that I am not the only one!!!!  I have been having a dreadful month on the bear front - nothing going right!  Things that I normally do without a problem are now causing me such grief!!  One particular bear has had three heads, and I have only just left the third head sitting on the table behind me now because that isn't to my liking either!!  It was expensive mohair too but it is going all out of shape!  I can feel myself getting all "gggggrrrrrrrrrr!" so thought I had better put it down before I ripped the living daylights out of it and bounce it all over the room!! bear_cry  bear_cry So I have turned to my dear old computer so as not to throw the head out of the window!!!!!  Gggrrrrrrrrr!  The most silly simple things are going wrong!!!  Yep, printer too!  I also cut the wrong head out for another bear and don't have enough mohair left to redo it; I have had to take the stuffing out of various feet because I am not happy with them  - oh, so many other stupid things too.

I think the trouble is, that when one particular thing has gone madly wrong, like my heads, I can feel myself all tensing up when trying to make the next one correctly.  I don't think I am working any differently to normal but for some weird reason, my stuffing is all going to pot!!!  I almost dread trying to get it right so I sit infront of a big pile of stuffing and think "Nope, I'm not in the mood!!" My bear will have to wait.  Good job it isn't the one that I am timing to see how long it takes me to make a bear!!!

I'm just relieved that I am not in a rush for a show like a lot of you are at the moment with Hugglets - I would be there with an empty table!!!

I hope everyone's problems are soon a thing of the past!!  Happy bearing!!!

Hugs
