This is a question probably best answered by experienced artists who have been in the industry for quite some time. Newer artists are likely to see an increase in their prices as their quality and look are perfected so not the best example.

I'm wondering if you, as seasoned artits, have seen the value/selling price of artist bears increase or decrease or stay about the same in recent years. I know there are loads of factors that would cause the value to flucutate and I'm not so interested in the reasons as I am just the fact that the value has or has not changed.

For example: A bear you made 6 years ago sold for $150. Would you be able to get more or less or the same for that bear now?

Interesting Question, Would like to see the answers on this.
My personal experience, is I got more 6 years ago as the australian dollar was worth a lot less than the US dollar. And my bears back then were gross hehehehe. But it hard now. There is a lot more artists and a lot of good quality work being produced. I  think they are going for less.

I first started making and selling around 14 years ago, can't remember exactly. Then I could very easily sell my 12" mohair bears for £95 ($190). I did find that a lot of collectors started to make bears and things got quieter. I stopped making around 9 years back so can't say what happened in between these times.

Now if I made the same bears could I get the same price or more for them? It would be interesting to see. I'd have to make a large one first!

Good question.
