Did you know that Paddington is FIFTY???????????? BBC Radio four came up with something really nice - they hid fifty Paddington bears in various railway stations throughout England, with a "Please look after this bear" label, and a request to phone in to report when and how they discovered the bear........how nice is that!
I googled Paddington, and there is a whole lot about it on his official website

I LOVE PAddington!!! I didn't know it was his fiftieth birthday this year, but my son and I were already celebrating by making our own Paddingtons. (I'm keeping this avitar all year in his honor!)

   And here's me thinking "but its not his birthday at all!  His birthdays are in June and December''  bear_laugh

I'm another who adores Paddington.  What a thrill it would be to find your very own Paddington at one of the train stations!!!

Right you are! My son Brendan started making his Paddington on Christmas Eve and decided to finish it on Christmas Day because that's when his birthday is!!

Carolyn, I saw a picture of the statue online. If I ever make a trip to England I must see Paddington Station!

Wow, he looks good for his age!

I've always enjoyed Paddington.  My girls have some Paddington movies on DVD and they are so cute!  They are claymation or stop motion animation or something.  Really adorable!

Happy Birthday Paddington!!! :cake:  :cake:  :cake:  :bday:  :bday:  :bday:

Really?  I miss the old ones that I saw on PBS the ones where Paddinton's rendered in fully 3D and colour, but the background and other characters are papercut outs.  Are those the types you mean Lisa?  I'd love to get ahold of some of those.

Brendan's Paddington turned out fantastic!!!!       bear_grin  I've no doubts he's got black ears under the hat too!
