snow-mar.-08-5.jpgsnow-mar.-08-4.jpgsnow-mar.-08-3.jpgsnow-mar.-08-2.jpgsnow-mar.-08.jpgHi y'all . . . . welcome to warm, sunny Texas!  We've been having nice weather off and on, well, really all winter long and look what happened today!  3 1/2" of the white stuff as of this afternoon and the weather people say it will snow into tomorrow am.  EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!  I'm not used this kind of weather.  The environment is totally all screwed up.  The road that goes in front of our house is right behind Paul and Bailey at the mailbox. Bailey (the dog) didn't know what to think - he was only too happy to get back inside.  Fortunately, the temperature has stayed above freezing, so at least we won't have ice as the snow melts . . . which it is already doing.  Got to 4" before it quit.  I had irises, Gerbera daisies, and geraniums budding/blooming - BIG RATS!!  bear_sad  bear_sad  bear_sad  bear_sad  bear_sad

Wow! Sue Ann, totally December, weather is totally wierd, here in California its been in the 70+. But it looks beautiful anyway. I have never seen snow in my life up close,so I would not even know how it feels to be on it. The children must love it.  You seem to live in such a beautiful place, your springs summers must be wonderful or falls.I would only have to say enjoy it while you have it and snug, snug in side making your beautiful bears

Wow, that is COOL Sue Ann (no pun intended  bear_tongue  bear_tongue ).  Yep, I agree about the environment.  We haven't had even a dusting of snow here in Virginia the past two winters.  My girls are going to out grow that Penguin sled I bought them before they even get a chance to use it!

Wow!  Talk about wacky weather!  Sue Ann and I live about 3 hours apart, and I'm in shirt sleeves this afternoon.  the only reason I put on shoes today was because it was raining when I went to the mailbox.

I guess I'd better take a look at the weather, as I may need to bring my plants in for the night.

Your poor flowers!  The weather here in the northeast has been getting stranger too.
The photos look like you might be living right next door to me!  It's hard to believe you've had that much snow in Texas.

It certainly gave you a nice photo opportunity though.  The pics are so pretty!  I love the puppy's expression!
Should I send you a snow shovel???  bear_happy  bear_whistle

Sue Ann,
That is a pretty neat Camo bear.  It would look neat next to UGBunn.  You should think about bringing "IT" to Albuquerque or / and Austin.

Oh that looks so pretty Sue Ann, but would be so cold and I am not surprised Bailey was happy to be back indoors.
He is so cute.

That was a shame about your Spring flowers.

Stay warm

Ahhh, so that's where our snow ended up!!  Our weathermen kept calling for the white stuff here...but not so much as a sparkle.

Fingers crossed it melts quickly for you

Sue Ann....... I have no sympathy for you!!! bear_tongue
We've gotten over 110 inches of snow this winter so far with more on the way Saturday.
This is the second snowiest winter in New Hampshire on record (in over 150 years!)
My weeping crab apple tree that we just got last summer is about 5 1/2 feet tall and I can't see the top of it anymore... it's burried!

4 inches.... that's NOTHIN'!!!

I'm just teasing you  .... I know it seems like a big deal down there and yes, the weather is all messed up!!! Poor Bailey! One of my parent's cairns is the same way... wants to go right back in. The other one thinks it's a bubble bath, lays right down on his back in it! Silly!!

Yea . . . looks like the second batch of winter precipitation is going to miss us after all, so our 4" will be gone tomorrow.  Well, it was pretty, but natives down here don't know how to drive in this stuff so traffic in the area totally went to pot.  The local TV programming all afternoon long was about the weather, school/community closings, continual updates on how much snow had accumulated where, etc.  You'd think we'd had a first rate disaster.  We're real wimps when trying to deal with "that much snow".  Guess we'd just fall down in a heap of disbelief if we had 110" or 5 1/2 FEET of the stuff on the ground!  Aww, Daphne, of course I know you were kidding.  This is just so unusual that I had to carry on and whine about it.  Bailey sends regards to your cairn "brothers".

Gail and I live about 40 minutes apart, so we have the same amount of snow.  This winter is like the winters we had, when I was a child - snow drifts so high you can't see over them OR around them.  Makes driving a little tense.

Sue Ann,  it's not only drivers in Texas that don't know how to drive in show!  Every snow fall we have the accidents go up into the hundreds.  They are actually talking about charging drivers in bad weather accidents, because most of it is just stupidity - going to fast, etc, etc, etc.   Our poor flowers have been frozen and thawed so many times this winter, I'm not to optimistic about our garden this summer.

                                     hugs,

                                     Brenda

Sue Ann, your Texas snow storm even made it onto the evening news here (from Calgary, Alberta) complete with pictures and everything! Sure looked strange seeing all that snow when we have virtually none here - just a few patches left in shady areas.

I can send you some if you miss it too much Edie! bear_grin

It's OK SueAnn...we might know how to deal with the snow better, but you should hear the whining and carrying on when we get a week or 2 of hot weather in the summer! bear_wacko

Stay safe!

You know Sue Ann, this isn't fair. Everybody and their brother is getting snow and yet we Minnesotans get nada!!!  This is just isn't right! All we are getting is subzero degree weather. You Texans are lucky ducks enjoy the beautiful snow. Love the pictures for all I can do is enjoy them vicariously.

It's so pretty Sue Ann.  I really miss snow - back where I grew up, we'd get a dusting like yours every few years.  Where I live now, it's wind and horizontal rain - give me snow any day!  Your pooch is so cute!

What great pictures Sue Ann, I guess it's best to get shots like that whilst you have the opportunity. Bailey looks as if he should have gotten right back inside, guess his little tootsies were cold. This winter we have hardly seen any snow...mind you it did snow for around twenty minutes earlier this week, then it rained and it was gone. My husband was taking a shower and thought I was kidding when I said we had some snow as there was nothing to see by the time he'd finished showering.  bear_grin  bear_grin  bear_grin Still that suits me, snow looks pretty but so many accidents and old folks unable to get out to buy groceries...nah not for me.

Hugs, Jane.  bear_flower  bear_flower  bear_flower

Lovely photos Sue Ann - thanks for posting them. Seems like all our snow got stuck on your side of the Atlantic......we usually get a fair lot, but not much this year - still - our worst snow last winter came in late March - ho hum!  I don't envy you, DAPHNE - that is one heck of a lot of snow..........and boy is it hard just walking in deep snow.

Sue Ann,

I can't even say that the snow is pretty right now.  I am sick of it.  As a matter of fact we have threatened to move back to Texas.  Now you show pictures of Texas with snow.  At least yours will not linger.  We're under a winter storm warning right now.  YUK!  Please, please have nice weather in Texas in May.  We are going to be there for two weeks for a much needed vacation.
