I'm not sure what to do about this? I was planning to list a new cat on ebay in a couple of days. It's one of my new reclining cat designs and it happens to be a Himalayan. I just checked and a reseller has put up one of my old Himalayan sitting cats from 2002!  At first I thought; what's the use, I'd be competing against myself. But then I thought; maybe, I would get some of the traffic if I put up a different breed of cat. I'm thinking a Maine Coon. What do you think? Should I wait it out, or list? I'm so disappointed  bear_cry I worked really hard on this new cat to get him ready for the weekend. But nothing's lost, he'll be at Disney with me in May. bear_flower

P.S. The old 2002 Himalayan is up to $300 in one day, what the heck is going on with this seller?!

Karen,
THis is my gut instinct - list your cat anyway.  I recently put up two auctions at the same time, something which I thought I would never do (competing with myself etc.).  However, even though I've had a bear recently that didn't sell, both of my bears that were listed simultaneously, sold.  Go figure.  It would be a chance for customers to see how your cats have evolved,  if there are changes, and I really think customers like dealting with the artist.  Just my two cents and all the best, whatever you decide.

                         hugs,

Hi Karen..I have a feeling it won't matter. I have had resellers list right at the same time I list , probably coincidentally, but at first I thought it was a disaster and almost ended my listing. I decided that I have to carry on regardless and I think it actually made no difference to the outcome as I do think on the whole collectors prefer to buy the newest designs direct. I have had new customers come direct to me for a bear following adopting from a resellers auction, or from a shop in the UK that offers an opportunity for collectors to sell bears to them. So I am of the opinion that it makes very little difference ...in fact I think it actually drives more business to your auction.

I agree with the others, Karen - I can't see it being a problem, just offering the collectors more choice, and I'm sure they will both do well as your work is in such demand!

Good question Karen. But you know, your cats are so unique and wonderful I think the buyers on Ebay are priviledged to have the opportunity to bid on two offerings. They would be so lucky to have either one of your creations!

Thank you, everybody
I did it! I listed my new Himalayan on ebay (her photo is in TT Marketplace). IT wasn't as tough as I thought. First, the reseller has a rating of over 3,000  bear_rolleyes  I'm sure they won't even notice my listing.  Second, I Can see a big difference in my style since 2000. It was kind of interesting to see  :photo:  I guess we don't really pay much attention over the years until we put our old designs and new designs side-by-side.

Hi Karen,

Can you list the auction number?  I would like to see both of them.  I bought one of your kittys from someone else as well.

Thanks so much,

Hazel
