Oooh Sue, I really like the downward pointing snout thing you have going there bear_laugh  Can I ask you where you got that pink for Candy Floss from?  It looks so similar to the piece I used for my Sloth Liebe that I'm wondering if they might be one and the same, and I'd love to have more!

Glad you pulled out of your rut!  bear_thumb

Hmmm, I think Liebe's fur had a pink backing bear_sad  Ah well..

What's the Christie bears pink like?  I want it, but it's all money, isnt it?  And I can't have two pinkies, one after the other!

How many do you have set by now? bear_original

The Christie one is very similar but I do like the backing of the probar, (hint:Christies do have a sale in june & jan)

As for how many pinks, French pink sparse, candy pink very short, pale pink curly, baby pink with choc backing (thats a christie one and de-firs very easily-40mm heirloom in mulberry) pink tipped, frost pink faux fur and the probar one bear_grin  bear_grin

As for tomorrow, the final count is 20, and am very happy and knackered bear_tongue

Sue,

It was lovely to meet you, your daughter and your gorgeous bears yesterday! I hope that the show was a success for you.  bear_thumb

I thoroughly enjoyed the fair and no moaning from my boys either, they were happy doing the Easter Egg Hunt. I'd like to pop by again in August for the next fair, will you be showing there again?

Best wishes

Lisa

How did the fair go Sue-did you sell many bears?
The Ipswich bear fair is getting closer and I wondered what the attendance was like at the Nottingham fair etc?

Sorry to have missed you too Vicki. Sue said that you'd stopped by about 30 mins before me, perhaps we passed each other in the other hall and never knew.  bear_flower

Sue, you must have had a good day if you've put your name down for the next one. That's excellent! Fingers crossed that you get in, is it first come, first served or.....? bear_thumb

Regards

Ok confession time I sold none, but out of the 6 of us in the room, only 1 stall sold a couple of bears and they were to collectors that had come to buy from them bear_cry

When I went to the top room the story was the same, most had not sold and I am informed that it takes several visits to bag a few collectors.

To be really honest everyone loved the bears, I am quite an intuitive person and did realise it was not me or my bears that were the problem. It really was a pause, pick up and put down day. Alot of people took business cards and postcards, and I had to replenish those frequently during the day. I am going to try and take some decent piccis for my website and will be listing on Bid4bears as promised bear_grin

As for attending in August it did not put me off, they tend to be regulars that are accomodated first I think but if there is enough, like just now, they do open a second room. I think that attending fairs is something that I will love and am scouring the internet for another local one to go to before August, Bears are all packed and ready to go, have bear will travel so to speak.

It was so lovely to meet both Vicki and Lisa, I am so glad your son like Corylus (an evvergreen shrub) -the green one, 14mm mint alpaca from Christie bears tell him bear_grin

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that Sue.   bear_sad  If it'd been me I'd be so disheartened now but you sound so positive about it (* note to self - must try to be more like you). Hopefully next time will be completely the opposite and you'll sell out.  bear_thumb

Hi Lisa, my little ditty I made it up myself bear_grin ..................when life gets you down, pick yourself up and stand taller.

I really mean that, my life has had many lows and sometimes not too many highs, but Nottingham was a goodie, nobody was nasty and people did like them, was a bit worried about admitting that I had not sold cos I did not want people to think that they weren't nice, it really was a no buying day for most there, but like you say next time and every cloud has a silver, mine has 2

1 I have or will have bears for sale on my website
2 Also, Hubby has said I can have a new camera, the pics were so bad on the old one that he agreed that I was doing myself an injustice by using it, it was only a basic one bear_grin

Always look for the good cos every bad has a good, thats what I told my daughter just this afternoon on the way home, she got diagnosed with dyslexia last week at nearly 17, the school failed to see it even though she had tests at 13, the reason the college spotted it was because she has had to re take english this year as she did not do so well in her GCSE english last June and could not do A Levels this year. She was devestated but I told her that she failed to get the grade for english for a reason and this is it, She has always felt she was thick, even though we knew she was quite clever, now she realises that it was not her but this dyslexia and she will be able to learn how to get around it, which will help her the rest of her life. Also the college told her, her IQ was quite high bear_wub

Sorry for the ramblings but as usual I am cooking tea, listening to hubby moan, oh I forgot new camera, yes I do love him today bear_grin

Oooh Sue, about your daughter- is that Grantham College?  I remember you ringing up- never did check to see if she'd decided to go with them or not!  Their testing I have to say was top notch- both dyslexia and discalculia- something I'm sure I have bear_laugh My sister might be going to College instead of the High School, whee I went bear_original

Tami, thank you I am partial to the pink as well bear_wub

Chloe, yes its Grantham college, they are great, they are coming up with a program that should help her, she has always had a problem getting things from her head to paper and the college has only confirmed my suspicions, I am really angry with the school, but what ifs don't help so we won't dwell on that bear_wub
