Hi everyone. We just moved out to our lake lot this year and one evening this moose calf wandered into our yard. It was quite a surprise. Poor thing looks like he has ticks as he has rubbed most of his hide off. He has given himself a nice mohawk though. Any wonder we called him Mo.

Awwww - wish there were something that could be done to help this little one.
Oh poor little guy. Is there a wildlife vet in your area that could be contacted. Ticks can be deadly, maybe he could get charity treatment. His name suits him, bless his little heart.
Hugs, Jane.
OH Peggy what a wonderful site to have in your garden, even though he looks in a bad state. Poor fellow.

Dear Peggy: Please feed the little guy!!! Anything to help him along. Maybe calling the local animal control to find out if they will come and catch him, treat his skin problems, rehab him until he gets big enough to live on his own..
Awwhh, poor boy, I hope something can be done to help him
Yes, we wish we could help him too. We did ask advice from the local wildlife office and were told once the snow is gone and the ice melts, they can get into the water which helps them a lot to get rid of the ticks. He was eating our willow trees and he had lots to choose from. We haven't seen him since so not sure what became of him. Hopefully, he will be okay.
