Hello fluffy friends,
I´ve been checking TT seldomly the past few weeks.
Running back and forth between work, which sort of ran out of control since some months, home, which sort of might run out of control shortly, and my doctors appointments, I hardly found time for myself, for TT & my teddies.
Since some years I have at least 2 mammograms per year, after the doc found something suspicious in my breast and in winter the doc ddecidedto take it out.
Me, being the real chickin, went to another specialist for mammograms to get a second oopinion
Too bad- same oopinion the "thing" in my breast is supplied with blood, they said, so they would take it out without doing a biopsy first. If blood runs through a tumor, they oobviouslytend to spread, no matter if good or bad ones.

For me this was devastating news, my grandmother had breast cancer 40 years ago and when I was told that I had a medical condition in my breast, that needed to be checked on at least every year I was about 25.
Now I´m 46 and had many mammograms done, since 3 years at least 2 per year, so I always felt, like I had a powder keg in my breast, just waiting to explode.
Now, here it was.

My operation was due on April8th and I checked into the hospital on April7th, having a long talk with the surgeon, a very nice lady, who really made me feel like in Abraham´s lap.
I was waiting for the spot to be marked through an ultrasound and at 6pm it was my turn to have that done.
The doc who did it is really lovely, too, and she could not find the tumor on the ultrasound like in previous cases, so we had to switch to mammogram again.
She took some pictures there, checking the computer for the out come and I could see, that she was searching for something. She said, that she was confused, that all of a sudden the tumor was so blurry.
She desdecided make another picture with 15 degree angle and blew the picture up ...and there it was: no tumor.
All she could see was an oveoverlapping an artery and tissue, which actually was not one, but 2 different layers. In the computer tomography and ultrasound it had shown as one tumor, that had blood running through it.

You have no idea, how relieved I was!!!  This of course was nothing that had to be taken out and I could just go home. All these worries since years had all been completely unnunnecessary
I do believe in miracles, you know? bear_original
And in guardian angels!
Mine is a lovely angel and I wish, that everybody would have one like mine
.

The doc suggested to make a mammogram in half a year and from then on switch to having them done on a biannual basis.

NEVERTHELESS: ladies, have your mammies grammed! Some ladies say, it hurts. Duh! Sure, I know nicer things to happen to me BUT it can save your life!
You only got this one, so treat it well!

Take care of yourselves

I'm sooo delighted for you Gabi!!  Miracles happen every day, all around us.   bear_original

When I was in my early 20's I had a similiar thing happen.  I was having frequent headaches so my doctor sent me to have a CAT scan.  The scan showed what looked like an anuerism in my right temporal lobe.  Needless to say I was devastated when I got the news.  I had two children...a six month old and a two year old to take care of!  I got the news on Friday afternoon.  My doctor told me not to do anything but stay in bed the whole weekend and he would schedule me for an MRI on Monday.  Whether it was divine intervention or just a better scan, the anuerism showed up as a twisted and balled up artery on Monday.

That experience changed my life and attitude.  I don't take anything for granted.  Life is oh, so precious.  I've worn my Pollyanna ponytail and rose colored glasses ever since!

Warmest bear hugs,

Great news. I had something similar about 8 years ago - my doctor sent me to a surgeon for a breast lump. Fortunately after another exam he couldn't find anything so I didn't need surgery...but I still have regular mammograms. It was a scary few days!
