I've noticed in the past few months that an annoying Activa window appears at the top of my auction templates. I didn't ask for this, have only one item posted at any one time, and want to get rid of it!!!

I don't see anything in the eBay set-up that posts this 'ad' there and others' auctions don't have it showing.

Does anyone know how I can eliminate this annoying thing? I don't like anything to move and this is just a distraction and an imposition that I didn't request & don't want. I am not willing to advocate /advertise for Activa!

TIA - Bobbie

Sorry, I can't help you, Bobbie, but I sure can understand your opposition to the ad. I wouldn't like it either.

Is it for Activa or Auctiva?  If its for Auctiva, do you mean that scrolling gallery, like if you had several things for sale?  If thats it, I think I know how to get rid of it, I'm assuming you are using Auctiva for your listing.  If so,  sign in, go to -my account--account settings--listing enhancement--append auctiva scrolling gallery- change to NO.  I think this will work, if thats what your talking about,  if not, ignore this post and good luck!

Totally correct, Kathleen I didn't spell-check..

I use Tupics for hosting my web pictures. I once looked into Auctiva but don't have an active account there. Somehow they've attached themselves to my auctions - I'll see what I can do to inactivate it.  I'll LYK......

THX!!!!!

Hi Kathleen, I finally got to carrying out your directions.... THEY were EZ, Auctiva was NOT!!!

Every time I made a different choice than the one they set by default, a window popped up asking if I was SURE I want to change, because Auctiva is supported by being able to bring their wonderful products to new customers, blah... blah... blaaaa.....

And then I had to Click Save Changes for each section because it cancelled them out if I didn't save them for all of the sections.

What a ROYAL PAIN. After all that was done I hit Close My Acct.  I never really had an acct, just looked into their services when my host was causing fits last year. The chutzpah of some aggressive companies...

When I list again next week, I'll see if it's truly gone. Thank you again SO much cuz I never would've been able to root this out on my own!

Hokey Smokes! After jumping through hoops for 30 mins to navigate their site, now I'm presented with another set of instructions...

Shees... will I ever get their tenacious fingers out of my pie?
Off to ruin the rest of the evening trying out this:

Hello,
I'm sorry to hear you will no longer be using Auctiva. In order to cancel your Auctiva account, please click the "Cancel" link under the "My Account" tab within your account. Once your account has been cancelled, the scrolling gallery will no longer be placed in listings posted thereafter, however, it will remain in those listings in which it is already present.

To remove the scrolling gallery from your current listings, you must delete the store window HTML from the HTML description of your listings using eBay's "Revise your Item" form. The specific code you would need to remove begins and ends with the following HTML tag: <!--ASW--> You can also verify the HTML code that is used to generate the store window by clicking the "Scrolling Gallery HTML" link under the "Store" tab within your Auctiva account.

In order to remove the store window from listings to which it was appended automatically, you will need to revise each via the following process:

1) Click the "Revise your Item" link on the item.
2) Scroll about 1/3 down the page to the "Description" section and click the "HTML" tab on the editor.
3) Hold "CTRL" and press "F" to initiate a Firefox/IE "Find" command.
4) Enter <!--ASW--> in the "Find" field, and click "Find Next". The text <!--ASW--> will become highlighted, which is the beginning of the store window HTML.
5) Click "Find Next" and a second instance of <!--ASW--> will become highlighted, which is the end of the scrolling gallery HTML.
6) Delete all of the code between and including those two tags and save your changes.

If you have any further questions, concerns, or comments, please, don't hesitate to contact us again.

Sincerely,
Todd K.
