SERGIE_04.jpgSERGEI_03_edited-1.jpgSERGEI_02_edited-1.jpgSERGEI_01_edited-1.jpgHi Guys...
Well..here is SERGEI..as promised.  He is 17 inches tall made from short German mohair.  He started out totally white.
He is completely airbrushed from head to toe...all freehand, no masks, or templates.  His head design has 17 pieces.  I had so much fun making this guy I plan on doing more large cats, like lions, leopards and more tigers.
For more details visit him in the showcase forum.

17 pieces in the head. How do you do it girl!!!!!
I can really see your airbrushing talent. Freehand is crazy. Make sure this one sells for tonnes.
I also really like what you've done with the nose.

Oh ... my ... God ... Judi.  This tiger is absolutely spectacular, and what a testament to your skills with an airbrush, in addition to your bearmaking talents already so abundant.

I really hope you have this guy slated as a contest entry this year.  He's unlike anything I've ever seen.

Wonderful!

Tag..Shelli, you're it!

I feel a bit red faced posting him in three areas....

Thank you so much for the encouraging comments.  I had so much fun airbrushing this tiger.  He was a lot of work.  I ran out of CO2 in my tank right in the middle of working on his face...he wasn't very happy with me...neither was I..AAARRRGGGG  My pressure gauge was showing that I was almost out but I was going to work until I ran it dry..and I did.

What I really really REALLY  like is that if you close your eyes and feel this tiger...he only feels like mohair...you cannot feel the paint.  I am very pleased about that becasue I have never actually done this much airbrushing on a soft sculpture before.

Judi, there really are no words to describe your amazing talent.  This tiger is the most incredible pice of art I have every seen.  Having taken your airbrush course, I can truly appreciate the skill and time you have put into airbrushing this creation. I can't even do the basics yet.

He is absolutely, truly.........breathtaking !   WOW !

CONGRATULATIONS !

Thank you Tammy!

It takes a long time to really get comfortable with airbrushing.  Keep on trying!  Don't give up.  Your work is beautiful!

Matilda, honey...get used to those broken needles.  Sometimes I get into a fast rythm...then crack..there goes a needle.  I try to keeposeveral of each size on hand for such occasions.

How is everyone's fingers?  Any casualities?   :cry:I haven't done a doozey for a few days.

AAAaaahhhhh!! Judi, funny you should mention that  bear_grin I have a friend(no, thats not the funny bit, I have a couple of friends) well this friend is going to Melbourne in a couple of weeks and she is going to stop at aplace' that someone posted here' to pick me up heaps of needles.
I'm getting all excited bear_wacko  Silly woman that I am.

I keep falling asleep while felting. Does anyone else doze off??????
Not sporting any injuries at the moment, not with felting needles that is. Did get myself a doozy with a doll needle though.

Matida....you make me laugh! bear_laugh bear_laugh bear_laugh

I rammed a needle under my finger nail yesterday while sewing, not needle felting.  I was distracted my my toddler, Joey.   ouch.

Right now I am working on a sheep with a feted face, inner ears , and hoofs(hooves?).  SHe has a curly mohair body with jointed leags and armature in all foru legs and a wired tail.  She started out looking very strange...now I am very pleased with her.  She is going to accompany a farmer bear with felted face, ears, and paw details.  I'll post a picture when the set is done.  bear_original

ASDtags_SunflowerSurprise_love-it.jpgJudi,
I have been away from TT for almost a week....a rough one at that..and I can't possibly catch up on 10 PAGES of chat....but I HAD to make a comment on that tiger. Trouble is...it's all been said....so I'll just say that I am awestruck by this guy and I think your talent knows no bounds.
I can see all the work and effort there and think you should be so proud. I do hope you'll enter him in the TOBY's or something.
Luv ya,
