As most of you will now have realised, many of us UK bear makers took part in Samantha's lovely Teddy Bear Artist Event on Sunday, in Stratford Upon Avon.  It was my first visit to the town and I absolutely loved it! As I was staying for the weekend, I had the opportunity to take my camera out for a mooch around the town on Saturday evening and I have just uploaded the results to my blog, if any of you overseas folks would be interested to take a peek!  Stratford is of course, famous as the birthplace of William Shakespeare and the history of the place is fantastic .. I loved my visit and hope I can return for a more detailed visit another day!

If you would like to see the pics (sorry, there are so many I thought it best to direct you to my blog rather than spend another couple of hours uploading them here!) please pop over to www.allbear.blogspot.com

I hope you enjoy the pics!

Here's one to whet your appetite:

Yes it was a great place to have a show . I love Stratford and the surrounding villages and there were plenty of things to occupy my boys on Sunday when they weren't helping me !

Paula you've got some really fine photos there ! I wish I'd seen more of the place ; I'll go back soon . I did manage to go
in to Shakespeare's birth place/house - it was difficult to really take in the enormity of that !! It's incredible that such an "important"
place is still standing - and right in the midst of such a bustling , thriving town ! In the museum attached were early 16th century examples
of gentleman's gloves (such as his father would have made) they were (to me anyway) breathtakingly beautiful ; the finest , colourful embroidery imaginable
and gold lace edgings . Sheer delight !  bear_happy

(p.s I have some sillier pics on my blog , such as my son "meeting" Shakespeare !!  bear_smile )

What great pictures Paula...and I am ashamed to say that though I only live about 25 minutes from Stratford it isn't a regular haunt of mine..but it is a stunning town. We always seem to head for Leamington Spa, which is only 15 minutes away and is equally beautiful, though it's Georgian buildings are very different to Stratfords half timbered houses...
I was back in Stratford on Monday, quicker than expected as I foolishly left my briefcase on a chair behind my tablea at the Civic Hall ...nothing in it mind you...just a pile of junk!!

Wow, Paula - fabulous photos!  Such a famous place with a wonderful history.  I'm sure The Bard would've enjoyed and approved of teddy bear shows.

Fab photos Paula.

Drat, I didn't realise that there was a bear shop, we were so dissappointed on Saturday to find that the bear museum had moved to London and we could have cheared ourselves up there instead, oh well.

It was lovely to meet you and your bears on Sunday and you were gracious enough to listen to my ramblings.  Now I feel guilty again and must get back to that bear challenge!!!!

Hugs Ali x

It's lovely to hear you all enjoyed the Stratford visit with me!

Thank you for taking a peek at my photos, I had such a wonderful evening meandering around the town in the evening sunshine and it has left me wanting to find out more!
