Maisie is growing like a little week. She's fearless, loves chasing bugs, likes to run away when we call her and all the wonderful things a puppy is supposed to do. However, this can cause lots of frustration for those of us who must catch her.

Saturday was our second obedience class with six other dogs who were sitting quietly while she was not still a minute, pulling on her leash and rolling around, and mostly not listening. She was too interested in the other dogs. She "sits" but has no idea what I want with "come," "stay," or "down." We both came home exhausted and took a nap.

These pictures were taken last Friday after playing in the sprinklers but before I could catch her.

Marlys..... you've just described a true terrier!!!! Even once she knows what you want with those commands, she'll only do them when she wants to! I understand the need for a nap after training classes..... been there!

She's so cute (even dirty!) that I'm sure she gets away with EVERYTHING!!! bear_wub

An adorable little girl, Marlys!  Her face/head look so much like my cairn Bailey, but his hair is longer.  I think westies are white cairns, or cairns are colored westies.

Oh boy, that's one funny little girl you have there Marlys. Massie is very cute and from what I read and can see a young lady that will keep you going. Bless her, give her a big hug from me.

Thank you all for comments on Maisie. She does keep me running but we love her to death even though she's in her terrible terrier twos.

Daphne, I love terriers, too, and it's those traits that most frustrate me that I also love about terriers.

Well your little girl is having a ball isn't she...I don't own a dog but I watch this show called "the dog whisperer". I think the show is on the National Geographic station on Sundays. Cesar is a specialist in training dog. His book is supposed to be good according to my friends who have dogs. They said it is a wonderful guide in training their dogs. When I watch the show, I think it is amazing how he can, within an afternoon get dogs to behave. Here is a link to look at his book:
