I attended my first workshop and although it is non beary, my head is buzzing with ideas, wings, more wings flowers........................
I am sorry piccie in shadow but the first was way out of focus, it is a dragon fly, the wings are only attatched at the base and along with the body are free (not sewn on the material) It was actually quiet easy to make, apart from cross stitch I have never done any embroidery
Very pretty Sue, well done. Please show us more pictures when you make more things from you new found craft, I would love to see them. I don't know how big this dragonfly is but if you could make one the right size it would look great on a bear's paw.
Hugs, Jane.
Great minds and all that Jane
The dragonfly has a wing span of 2 inches and the head'n'body is just over that at 2 1/4
My mind is a wash, the lady had done a poppy about 3 inches wide using the same method
Its very secure not flimsy as it is embroidered, I see no reason why something larger can't be made
As soon as I saw the dragonfly about 2 months ago, I thought of fairy wings, which is why I took the course, anything to enhance the bears
It was quite funny, alot of the ladies had done all kinds of kneedle work, crewel work etc and me non, so they thought I was a complete novice, very green, they were extremely surprised I finished my wings first......................all those tiny bear stitches paid off
Don't get me wrong they were a really nice bunch of ladies, me being the baby of the group I think they thought I was going to struggle but they were very pleased for me that I managed ok
I alos did a bit of Bear Artist education along the way
Oh wow, that looks so good Sue. Well done.
Sue: that is a wonderful dragonfly. Yes, I would say, that triggered all kinds of bear ideas for you...Have a good time dreaming up fairy bears and other critters with wings.
looks great, wonderfull work  , I think you have had a lot of fun.
Looks like you had great fun Sue.I am sure it won't be long before we see a few fairy bears
