Here in the northern California foothills, we had a lightening storm with a little hail on Saturday. This almost never happens, well maybe in the high sierras but not in the foothills. The lightening started numerous small fires in the dry foothills and with this and all the other wild fires burning in Northern California, we woke up this morning to a sky full of thick smoke.
This evening, the smoke in the sky gave the setting sun an eerie look.
It looks like the red planet Mars...great piccie Patty..
Looks alot like the skies around here all Autumn, we have alot of foresrty going on and at times thier burn offs leave us choking, not to mention the asthma suffered by my husband!! We do get some stunning sunsets as compensation. They claim their practices are carbon neutral, I can't see it myself, they rip up the forest and chip it then burn the rest! Carbon neutral yeah right.
Eerie and beautiful at the same time.
