I received an email from a nice guy from Georgia desperately looking for someone to take on a custom job. I am unable to help him out, but thought maybe someone here would be interested. He's having a hard time finding someone to create a bear from a sketch he paid an artist to draw for him. I offered to post his request here. I don't know him personally, but you can contact him directly for all the details and a photo of the bear. I have a copy of the photo too if anyone is interested.

I think it's important to know why he wants this bear created? When I worked with toy companies I frequently had requests from people who thought they had the next "Care Bear". I never accepted these requests but I have known artists who have. Most of the time the person would not pay until they received money from a company and, lets face it, that seldom happens! And even if by some miracle this does happen the artist must have a contract to protect their part in the design and prototype. 
We all wish it was as simple as having an idea and having someone create the piece and getting rich! But I don't want to label this guy, maybe it's for sentimental reasons, just a one-of-a-kind?

Karen , thanks so much for your insight ! I know you speak from lots of experience. 
You are so right that we need to be cautious. I felt it was a one-of-a-kind deal , but I honestly don't know why he wants the bear made. I hope that anyone that is interested asks him all the important details like you mentioned. I just wanted to throw it out there for him incase anyone wanted to find out more info. I just know it wasn't something I wanted to take on myself.
