YEP that time again for Perth-siders. We don't get many fairs but when we do we make the most of them.
I see that Kim of Russell bears is doing a workshop and Helen of BareCub Designs and one of my favourite artists Brigit Charles of Brigit bears. yippee I can bearly wait
Awww I wish I could go i would love to meet all of those bear makers. But I am stuck here on the other side of Australia . Don't forget to post pictures!
Wendy, PLEASE take your camera with you and get some nice close up shots of the bears. Have a great time...will you be exhibiting?
Hugs, Jane.
Wendy - hope you have a great show. Like Therese, I'm also on the East Coast and unfortunately it's just too expensive to get to Perth (oh well, keep dreaming ... maybe one day!) I'd love the opportunity to meet with yourself, Kim and Brigit one day (one of the first bears I made was a Brigit Charles pattern - love her work!) Anyway ... we'll just drool over the photos - make sure you take plenty!
Marg
I was told by a friend last night that "Australia is too big" and I must agree, it is at times just too big.
I won't be taking a camera. Any photos I'll leave up to Kim. You will have to ask her.
Its a great fair for craft supplies and the other year I went specifically because Linda Benson was doing a workshop on leather noses. She is the most calm and serene person. It only takes her a couple of minutes to sew her lovely leather noses. Way cool to watch.
I'm going to hang out at Kim's workshop and she won't even know I'm there...hahahahahahahahahaha I also want to do the microwave glass beading workshop that is going to be at this fair.
So much to see and buy and soooo little money.......sigh.......
Ah Wendy, I know what you look like now, so you won't be able to hide!!!!
Anyway, us bear makers are apparently demonstrating at the actual Teddy stand rather than the workshops they've had in the past.
I'm not doing anything exciting at all, I'm not even doing needlefelting, I've just released a new pattern featuring mini bears, where I've turned one bear pattern into 3 other critters, so my demo is how I've tweeked one pattern to make another 3 I'm not even sure at this stage how I'm going to demo that  , anyway, I'm sure everybody else has something exciting to see though.
Wendy make sure you introduce yourself cause you should be in there with us
 G'day Kim..... If I don't have one of my totally excruciating, exasperating shy moments I just might introduce myself
You may not think there is anything for me to learn at your 'humble' tutorial Kim but sometimes viewing the most simplest tasks great ideas can be created. Plus I will come by to add my support.
Marg, Brigit is as lovely as her wonderful mink bears. Which are exquisite with the awe factor.
Man, how do you think I feel, I hate being the centre of attention and have those shy attacks too, I'm actually dreading it now
I may just do an open question demo, where everyone else asks me how I do things, maybe I might have all my patterns on display and demo how I make each one, boy, nothing like leaving it till the last minute
I'll have to try and think up some real doosies to ask you MMmmm ...is there anything I don't know already?
