Hi guys. Feel like crying tears of joy? Watch this video...it speaks for itself...oh...and turn up the sound.
This is the most amazing video I have EVER seen.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiGKWoJi5qM
I remember when I first found this story, Judi I think they showed a few clips on a program on Animal Planet.... can't remember but I found it on Youtube later.... truly amazing
Like the husky/polar bear story- really lovely, especially for a zoologist having to do a zoologists study!
Hi Chloe. I just saw this on TV this morning and immediately went to utube. I have never even heard of this story before. It's amazing. I just love heart warming animal stories.
What is the husky/polar story about? Is there a video clip? I'd love to see it.
Wow.... I cried my eye out when I watched that. To see him HUG like that... wow, that is true love
You know Judi, I'm now thinking to myself that the lion in the film i saw might have been a Lioness... maybe it was a different story? On Wikipedia it says that the man who helped with his African rehabilitation was murdered by poachers :(
The Husky/Polar Bear story is great- mostly photos I believe- try this link. http://speakingoffaith.publicradio.org/ … seen.shtml
One of my favorites
Chloe, I was just viewing some more footage and in one of them is a still shot taken years later of George Adamson with a large male lion. Maybe there is more than one story going on or they have the names wrong. I also read about the poachers murdering George. I wonder what became of the lion.
Regardless , it is a heart warming video.
I had to edit my typo....I had "make lion" when it should have read "MALE lion".
I just learned of this story yesterday and became obsessed with it I googled for 90 minutes and learned more of the story... posted it on my blog - http://teddiesbylauralynn.blogspot.com/ … stian.html
As for the mane, males start to develop their manes at 18 months of age and it continues to grow for 5 years or so. Not all male lions grow huge manes. It takes a lot of energy because of the heat it keeps in. In fact, they've done studies and learned that lions in northern (colder) zoos grow larger manes than lions in southern (warmer) zoos.
love, love, love, love this video!!!!!
I remember seeing this video, I loved it.
It was wonderful seeing it again!
thanks,
Thanks Judi, that was the first time I'd seen it, I balled my eyes out , it was sooo beautiful
absolutely amazing, not quite the thing to watch on a "blue" day though. Sobbed my heart out. Wouldnt it be nice if everyone had someone that loved them THAT much. have seen lions in South Africa that were hand raised and the keeper could still interact with them but really didnt expect a lion that was released to react like that.
The video clip was so moving to watch
Laurie
It just goes to show that love knows no boundaries and the power of love is amazing!
I am still watching it over and over and over......
Here's another link with more photos of George Adamson:

We just picked up a friend of Bob's from O'Hare airport -- coming in from London. He came in for a convention for their hobby. (diecast models of construction equipment)
Guess what he brought with him? The DVD Christian, the Lion at World's End!!!!!!!
Hubby sent him an email asking if he lived near the shop (in my blog post) which is the only one that carries the DVD. He DOES and he brought it with him! Guess what I'll be watching tomorrow!!
