For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
As usual, I'm in a flap about how on earth I'm going to finish (or even start!) my show bears when I have so many other things to complete first, so I decided to take the bull by the horns this week and make the first bear for the Teddies 2008 show to be held in Kensington Town Hall, London, on September 14th. 23" Humphrey is now waiting patiently on my workroom shelf for his big day out! I feel a bit better about things now that I have one big bear finished ... only eight or so left to go!!!!
Oh that mohair looks beautiful, stunning bear as always
I only have 4 made for Hugglets and now the kids are off school for 6 weeks Lots of late night sewing for me i guess
Hugs

Oh my gosh Paula, I just finished a bear using this exact same mohair (i think), how strange!
I'm fighting with myself over Hugglets this year maybe if I can convince myself I can afford it, I will actually arrive in time to see some of your bears (and you!) face to face this year...
Paula - how can you have started on bears for Hugglets already???? I have only just begun thinking about TBAI and my gallery piece!!!
Lovely bear, by the way - is that Intercal fur? I made a Cupid bear once out of something similar and he turned out really well.
Hugs,
Chris
Thanks everyone! Lovely to hear you like my first Hugglets bear! Chris, I made a start on this big 'un because I was starting to worry that I'd never get my act together. I've been really woolly headed about organising my time since my holiday and just don't seem able to settle to much, so I gave myself a good talking to and decided that if I had at least one or two big bears ready on my shelves, I'd feel much more in control. That's the theory anyway!
The mohair is an absolutely beautiful piece of Schulte by the way, I won't advertise where it came from on here, but if I say the name Susan to you, I'm sure you'll soon work it out!
I really love the way you play with colors.....
Really beautiful bear you have made....
Angel, Melanie, thank you for coming to see my big white bear! I'm so pleased you have enjoyed the pictures!
Great bear as always Paula. Such a lovely mohair and yes I know who Susan is. wink, wink.
Get working my friend , Hugglets needs more All Bear bears....
Hugs, Jane.
Wow Paula...he's superb..and amazing fabric too!
He's gorgeous Paula....what a great start to your Hugglets collection...I love white bears..and the mohair is wonderful!!!!
Hugs Yvonne
Lovely to hear from you three! Thanks for popping in! I'm delighted you like Humphrey!
I like white bears too Yvonne and don't make nearly enough of them. I used to make far more than I do these days, maybe I should rethink!
Beautiful, just beautiful. I think I have a piece of mohair just like that, long and wavy, from Shulte, about 1.5 inches. I've had it for years and have just been afraid to cut into it; it's just so soft and pretty. I love the white and blue together.
Paula, you have a hard time with organization? I don't believe it.
He is a fantastic big hug of a bear! No one will be able to resist him!
Ah Marlys, sometimes I confess I do!
Thank you so much for taking the trouble to let me know you like Humphrey, it's so lovely to hear from you all!
I cannot help watching Humphrey again and again, as he is such a beautiful bear!
He has the sweetest colour combination and looks so cuddly...
I wish I could hug him!
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Sophie, that is such a lovely thing to say, thank you!
Hi Paula, I'm so looking forward to Hugglets, I have brought a collection of smalll bears with me and the "doings" to make more while I'm here. At the moment we are staying with my sister-in-law's in Scotland, having wended our way here via the Lake District. Everything is soooooo green here!!! I hope we can say Hi to each other in London, hope to see you then, Linda
