For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
Do any of you use advertising tools (i.e. Google Adwords etc.) to advertise your website, and if so, do you see the benefits from it? I was just checking into this and I really know so little about it so I figured I would go to the ones who know best.
I have to say that my best advertising is in a few places:
1) Listing bears on ebay
2) Posting announcements to Yahoo groups which allow advertising
3) Listing bears here on TT!
I pretty do much the same...
1) list bears on ebay
2) post them on TT
3) put them on my website
4) submitted my page to Google and Yahoo... just the free services.
Banner advertising on TT is a very inexpensive way to promote your site.
Linking with other teddy artists is also a great way.
Joing other teddy groups and listing with promotional webs like Bear Artists Worldwide, Teddy Bears and Critters Australasia, North Country Teddy Bears will also help.
Forwarding photos and a web listing to the magazines.
I forgot about that... I also have some links with other teddy bear artists.
Forwarding photos and a web listing to the magazines.
This interests me as I haven't had any magazine exposure. I was under the impression that you either had to pay to get an ad in a magazine or that they would have to contact you to do an article. Would they look at photos that were sent in unsolicited by them?
Melisa you can send pictures in to Teddy Bears and Friends, check the link out:

also check their editorial calendar for what features you can participate in.
Thank you Sandi!
I spent ages listing (all free submissions) to various search engines, directories etc when my site was built and now my website pops up pretty easily in relevant Google searches. I've also discovered that having a regularly maintained blog is a great help too! My feedjit widget (!) shows me which country visitors come from and how they find me - it's been enlightening to discover that if someone puts in a search for say 'tulips', they will find my blog in the Google listings! I've had visitors discover my bears when they didn't even know they were looking for them!
