mjbearssorry i have not been on for a while been so busy with this little princess . please meet sapphire 15 weeks old. she is a black pure bred long haired german sheperd. all mine permitting home checks are ok which i am sure they will be ..i will let you know how we go and when we are due to pick her up....take care melissaxx

Busser BearsWe adopted from our local humane society a German shephard. She's 3 now and finally settled down making her a delight...but we've got 2 other pupsters, a 13 month old yellow lab and a 1 year old boxer. The lab is CRAZY, we rescued her too from where we lived before...had NO IDEA that labs were A.D.D. Hyperactive, but hearing from other lab owners, we are in for a time of it...she even bent her crate so that the plastic tray liner could be moved out and then snapped it in 2! It's a busy time at our home, too!
My sister had an all black shepard years ago, called him Bear because he looked like a bear cub when he was a pup!

Make sure she has a lot of toys and doggy bones where you can hide treats in them. This keeps the dogs occupied. Lots of exersice too. I saw on one of the dog shows, the Dog Whisperer, putting the dogs on a tread mill for extra exercise. This keeps them calmer throughout the day. You can read about it in one of Ceasar's books:

Unfortunetly the rules of the re-homing places round here dictate that you have to be home all day, so we got our baby from a breeder. Everyone said she would be big but she ended up being a broad ar**d gel :crackup: like the rest of us really, totally mad but only chewed the plaster in the conservatory, no shoes, althouth she does pinch them and play chase

Maisie is now 7 months old and I swear she's more trouble and takes more energy and when we had four little ones at once. The girl is constantly busy and obedience classes seemed to be a distant memory to her.
She is beautiful, Melissa.......and a big girl at 15 weeks! She looks so cuddly.....I just want to hug her!
I thought I would share a bit of puppy knowledge as we've just gone through it again.....and still are with a puppy that now weighs 100 pounds. 
Our German Shepherd/Mastiff mix puppy is now nine months old, and I totally agree with the puppy advice already posted about exercise and the treat toys that keep their minds busy. It sure helps with behavior when they are getting enough exercise (both mental and physical)......a tired puppy is a well behaved puppy! 
:crackup: The only times we've had trouble with Otis was during episodes of excess energy......he really needs to get that out of his system.....or boredom, as he will then just look for things to get into (you can almost see his mind turning over the possibilities.....scary! 
). Otherwise, potty training was complete at 6 months old, with very few accidents for quite a few weeks prior, and those right near the door outside. Puppy training pads did not work for us as Otis thought it fun to tear them apart, but they may work for you. If you can use them, they make potty training much easier. One last bit of puppy advice: there is nothing wrong with 'puppy time-out' if your pup gets too wild and crazy. This is not given as a punishment, but as a time for her to calm down on her own (we use Otis's crate, which is his den and comfort place.....he joins us again as soon as he's settled down). She will learn quickly that she has to settle down to stay with you, which of course is what she wants most!
mjbearsthanks girls for all you great advice... i have bought loads of things today and now need last thing a collar i want a pink diamonte set one with a lovely pink ;lead my hubby looked at me as if i was barking mad lol..... i said well she is a little girl my princess lol....so we will have to comprimise maybe purple i will keep you all updated thanks melissa x
