For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
Since having my website made, and being really excited about it at the time, I hardly go there, apart from to add a few links and the odd ebay bear, reminds me I must do that....
Anyway, if I'm not going there, that means no one else is, so what the point!?? :/
How do you get hits, help please, from Clare the QUESTION QUEEN again!!!!!
Do you have your about me page filled out thorough ebay that will direct people to your website??
Oh! I also am a member of Bearpile.com and you can link your website when people go in to look at your bears..
Hi Kim,
No you know I haven't got an about me page, what with all the hype recently about ebay and our websites, it's made me frightened to death to mention it!!! How do you all tackle that??
I've 'ummed and ahhed' about bearpile for a while, how do you find that works for you??
Kim, you are such a sweetie, I really appreciate your responses xx
Clare, if you go to
robshelp.com
THere is a free template and instructions to make your own 'about me' page.

To increase your traffic include some easy reciprocal links to places like:
Teddy Bears on the Net
Bears Direct
The Teddy Bear Search Engine
Teddy Patch
They scratch your back, you scratch theirs.
No time to include URL's right here and now, but if you go to my website LINKS page you can find banners for these sites and grab them for yourselves.

I also "advertise" my website in every signature, on every forum... on my eBay ABOUT ME page... in my print advertising... on my hangtags and business cards.
Of course, asking for reciprocal linking to other artist sites can bring you hits and be considered "advertising" as well.
Just a few ideas!
Also... check Yahoo groups for teddy bear groups which allow bears 4 sale postings (some don't).
Hi Laura - do you know of any particular yahoo groups where you can post bears?
I find I get a lot of hits from forums such as here and edinburgh so always mention your website there. I would try bear pile. It really is straight forward and does not cost you anything to put your bears on that appear on the front page... the only thing you need to do is pay 10% if they are sold through bear pile. I have not yet had any luck with it but I know some that have and it is also good advertising.
I've got lots of links on my website which may give you some more ideas of places to link to.
Hugs
Catherine
Hi Catherine!
Here's the ones I post to. (was going to post them last night but was called off for 'hogging the computer' LOL!!!!)
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Bearartistadverts/
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ebaybearsgroup/
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TBMLauctions/
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bears-4-sale/
There's probably more too.... I haven't checked in a while. Just go to the yahoo groups home and search in the Teddy Bear catagory. After that you need to check their home page to see if they allow new bear announcements.
Some don't want new bear announcements because they want to talk about teddy bears, not be a new bear announcement group... which I can understand! Some of the teddy bear Yahoo groups used to be pack full of good discussion about bears and bear making... and then the bears 4 sale posts took over and then no one just talked bears anymore.
Here's where you can look: http://dir.groups.yahoo.com/dir/1600181813
