What a day we had yesterday - the house at the end of our little lane (only 2 houses away from us) went up in flames - it was so awful and happened so quickly, by the time the fire engines came it was too late to save anything in the house. We tried with hosepipes before the firemen came but it got too dangerous and was too strong. Thank goodness none of the family were home (although it was a nasty shock to come to!) But the saddest part of it all is they had two cats and they got trapped and didn't survive, I'm sure by the smoke first. Fire is such a terrible thing, I know that dear Judi understands   Then I heard a noise coming from our loft, went to check and we had a leak and our hot water boiler was leaking everywhere!! Thank goodness we could find a plumber to come out quickly and he is now here changing it to a new one - great bills this month! But we had planned to go away for the weekend, thank goodness we hadn't, could have come back to flooding in the house - so we are just counting our blessings that we are all safe after seeing what can happen... : Then this morning I had to go to the dentist for a broken tooth! so I just want to close the doors and hide under a duvet!!
Wishing you all a calm and safe weekend!
Catherine xx
Oh no Catherine... They say that things go in three's, so I hope now you will be fine.
I hope that you have a lovely weekend.

Oh gosh Catherine, so much in such a little time. I hope life calms down a little for you now.
 Keep safe!!!
Catherine I am so sorry! The same thing happened to us last April The house across the street burned... and they lost their little Scotty dog. My husband tried to give him mouth to mouth but it was too late. Fortunately our neighbors were out to breakfast. Then, just last month the mentally challenged brother that lived with them died
Dear Catherine: what a horrific day. That poor family and poor kitties...it is heartbreaking. It does put things in perspective though doesn't it? They lost there home and beloved pets. You had a leaky water heater where you caught it early and a tooth that can be fixed in an afternoon....None-the-less, you too did not have the best of days...
I totally agree Michelle, what we had to 'deal' with is nothing compared to the poor family, we tried as much as we could before the firemen got there, my heart really goes out to them, especially as the poor lady has just got divorced and has 4 children!

That is terrible! I cannot imagine what it would be like to experience such a tragedy. Better days ahead for all I pray!
