Has any one tryied a double neck joint with both ends gathered instead of putting in the circle? Seems to me that would be bulky.

Yes I seen at tutorial and it is done covering the wood. This is just using the material. I was going through my old patterns I found while packing for a move and it was done with gathering the ends of the neck joint. I thought it seem stranged to do it that way. Never heard of any one else doing it that way.
