Okay, I'm confused! On ebay.ca we can still opt out of the new search system - not sure for how much longer though! Also on ebay.ca I can change the search method to check what is ending soonest or what is newly listed etc. but on ebay.com I don't seem to be able to opt out any more and all that shows is "best match" and it won't even let me change it to see what is ending right away or what the newest listings are! Surely this isn't the way the new search system on ebay is going to be is it????
I must be missing something or doing something wrong - how will people ever get the chance to get something if they can't even see it when it is ending as it is buried a bunch of pages behind things that don't end for a month!!!
I have two bears ending today - one in 7 hours and one in 8 hours - the first is on page 1 and the second on page 2 and I think I am very fortunate to be close to the front with the way things are now! I don't like this as a seller and I like it even less as a buyer as I feel like I could be missing out on all kinds of things I might have wanted to buy if I had seen them.
If it stays like this (and isn't just some silly thing I'm not doing right) I think I will very soon become an ex-ebay buyer if ebay.ca becomes the same as ebay.com
Edie,
I just saw your post and checked it out and I can still click on "ending soonest" in the drop menu on Ebay.com and it worked fine. Maybe you have a glitch with your computer? I have heard the new search is going to be permanted Nov 1st and I'm not sure if that means you will be stuck with "best match" or not. Anyway, if it's just your computer, you should be okay with your customers finding them, hopefully.
hugs,
Brenda
The menu has been moved more to the middle of the page and is no longer in a box. So, where you see "best match" in blue letters, just point to that and you'll see the rest of the options (like newly listed) pop up. It's confusing, but that's what they're good at - ha.
Hugs,
Cathy
Okay, that is exactly what I do on the Canadian ebay site but for some reason it won't work on ebay.com - I point and click and point all I want and the blinking Best Match just stays firmly put!!! Well, at least ebay hasn't gone that crazy then - just my computer, but I can't think why it's doing this! As long as it stays working on ebay.ca that's all I really need anyway but it's good to know it's just me having this problem!
