Hi, I wanted to try my hand at a mini about 4 to 5" ...what is the best fabric to use, that won't fray and will turn easy?

I have only been making minis a little while and have only used sassy smokey, frosted or long pile and find that they are ok to turn and I have been making 4- 5 inch bears. If you go onto the sassy site you will see the list for fabrics and on each type of fabric it will tell you whether you need to fray check or not.I am sure there will be more people that are more expert than me to help you though bear_grin

as Laurie  mentioned Tami. You cant go past Sassy long piles. The fabrics are idiot proof.
The smokey has a dark background with coloured pile, The Frosted has a coloured background with a white pile and the Sassy longpile is same colour backing and pile. There is no need to fray check and there is no stretch.
Stephanie had these fabrics specially made for the mini enthusiast.
and to quote Laurie

Yes I'm having fun on the website now. I might buy her pattern/kit and see if I like them this small! LOL

Yep have to agree the sassy fabric is one of the best.  The smokey pile is fantastic to work with the pictures don't do it justice trust me.

I love the Sassy fabrics as well. Don't forget to check out her threads though, especially the little spools of nylon threads. The best I've ever used - I used them for all my bears.
