santas-hat-and-mittens-017.JPGI've had my older two off school for 2 days 'cos they had the lurgy, and to pass the time I thought I'd play about with some lovely dark brown faux fur I've had forever.  So I made this decoration for my hallway, it's full size so will fit Santa (he sent me measurements   bear_tongue )  It's all the last minute things he'll need when he leaves the North Pole on Christmas Eve, Hat, Mittens, Nice list and of course his Magic Key.   It's one of my favourites (hubby thought I'd bought it!!) and got me thinking, what's your favourite decoration?

What a super idea Clare!  Love it!  Santa will be very cosy!!!

I like my pretty frosted glass baubles ... they are quite big, very fragile and I've had them for years.  As it happens, I tried to take some pics of them yesterday because I'm working on teaching myself more about using my camera properly ie., not relying on 'auto', or the flash all the time!

One of these days, I'm going to get round to making the Santa doll pattern I have by Janet Clark, to add to my decorations ... it was meant to happen this year, but I'm fast running out of days to work on it!

I don't have a photo of them, but I love the bubble candle lights!

Gorgeous fur ensemble Clare!  My daughter would love that as she likes prim very much.

And what a pretty bulb, too!  I just love Christmas.

I thought I'd share these here too ... vintage postcards from the early 1900's ... I have them on display under one of my Christmas trees ...

I love that here in Christmas 2008, an entire century later, I can share the Christmas cheer sent in 1908!

I have to say I have three faves - two are of my children in Junior Kindergarten.  They had the same teacher three years apart and made me the same paper doilie angel ornament with their school pics on them.  I just love them and every year it just boggles me how time has flown by.

My other favourite is one that I traded with another gal at a craft fair and it was long before I started making bears.  It's hand made and has a little bear riding on the back of a blue bird.  I'll post some pics.

What a cute decoration Brenda and the angels remind me so much of my days working in primary school!  The run up to Christmas was such a special time in school, I absolutely loved it!

Paula,
It IS fun, making things with small children at Christmas!  I helped our grandson make one of the angel ornaments last year for his mum, from his school picture last year.  I thought the tradition needed to go on, and Corson just loves to see his angel on the tree. We still have to make an ornament for his mum this year.  Simple but very effective.

                                                        hugs,

                                                        Brenda
