Hi, I'm working on a new mini and I don't know if is is the material I'm using or what, but I can't seem to get the thread joints tight enough to please me.....what is the best type of thread to use to do this?
I just did a search and found that artificial sinew in thin strands is great, maybe I'll try that....
Hey Tami, I like to use bead thread, but artificial sinew is great too. I always put a tiny bit of glue on a needle into the knot as I'm tying it...it makes it all stay in place and sticky while you're tying off so it doesn't slip. good luck
I am currently using upholstery thread..like string but finer...
l use bonded nylon and works well for me

I use upholstery thread but I understand from other mini artist that a waxy thread keeps it from slipping and keeps it tight. So my next mini, I will try that.
Tami,
I have found that a think strand of the artificial sinew works the best. Due to its waxiness (is that a word...LOL) it doesn't seem to slip.
I have also used beading thread but I haven't been able to get the joints as tight.
Hugs,
