BannerTOP.jpgHello, I would like to add the 100 Best Bear Artist Blogs logo to the gateway page, but to do so, I need to turn it into html coding.  I don't have a clue how to go about this, so if anyone could offer ABC advice, or point me in the direction of some wysywig software, I'd be very grateful!

Paula, I expect all you need to do is save it in a program like photobucket to get the html link for the logo. I don't now how you would create html code for the actual logo any other way ??  I could be totally wrong though  bear_tongue

Your image is a JPEG.
As they say, a rose is a rose and a JPEG is a JPEG.  You can't really turn a JPEG into HTML.

But...

You can use HTML to display a JPEG.

I think you want this:

<img src="http://www.myserver.com/mypicture.jpeg">

This will cause your picture to be displayed within a web page at 100% of its original size without any scaling.
If you want the picture to be a different size than original there are parameters in the "src" tag that will cause that.  But I don't use scaling unless I have to.  I think it's better to make your image the size you want it to be.

Will this do?  bear_original

Hi Tammy, I tried that but it doesn't give me the right code ... just a URL address in an img bracket.  I tried pasting that into the 100 site, but no luck!  :doh:

It says I can add a logo or graphic to the gateway by incorporating html ... but it doesn't tell me how too!  Frustrating! :wacko:

Oh, thanks Jenny!  I do want to display a jpeg, just as it is.  Sorry to sound dense (I'm well out of my comfort zone with this and really have absolutely NO concept of what is what!) but do I need to type anything into what you've given me?  Or can I just cut n paste what you've typed up for me?  See, I told you I didn't have a clue!  I'm a fast learner though! :P

Update:  tried <img src="http://www.myserver.com/mypicture.jpeg"> by copy n paste, but am getting a little square box with a red cross ...

Wey hey!!!!!  We've done it!!!!  I put my thinking cap on, went back to Photobucket, inserted the relevant info from Photobucket (ditched the img tag) and incorporated it into Jenny's code and hey presto!  Thank you Jenny and Tammy!  I even remembered how to add a couple of line breaks to get my centred text in the right place too ...  :dance:

Just in case you were wondering, this is what I was trying to achieve ...

Well done Paula, it's easy when you know how isn't it, otherwise it can make one feel like their brain has gone goo-ga. HTML can be a pain but once the code is broken then it can be soooo, soooo easy and obvious.

Hugs, Jane.

Well I think my brain is definitely goo-ga anyway, but it was good to crack this little tiny code!  I don't think I'll be giving up my day job to write html any time soon though!!!! :crackup:
