Well, it is getting near the time for the Hugglets Show in London. I am going over as a new artist and I was
wondering if any of the TT that has been there has any great tips for little me? Anything I should think
about or not forget....
I am so nervous as this is my first show ever and I am working so hard at the moment to get all the
bears ready in time.....
I would be very greatful if anyone had some information so I do not make to many mistakes

My advice is to say a warm hello to your neighbouring stand holders and smile on arrival!
It's a good idea to have a bottle of water with you too ... chatting all day can make you pretty dry!
Hi Ann-Marie, my first Hugglets show was in September last year and I was really nervous too. Even though I've been trading at shows all over Australia for many years this was my first overseas show. Everyone was very friendly so you don't really have to feel alone and the day passes very quickly. Just remember to take plenty of business cards with you!
Hope you have heaps of fun, I won't be there in February it's very expensive to travel there all the way from Australia, but I will be there in September again.
Hugs
Linda
You are permitted to put some advertising leaflets/postcards on the foyer table ... handy for letting people know who you are!
Hi Ann-Marie
the most important thing to remember is that you'll be in a place FULL of like-minded, warm and friendly people.............you'll have a great time! SMILE, get out from behind your table and just enjoy it - believe me, the day will just whizz past............
wish I could be there too, but I'll have to wait till September

Same goes for you too, Lynne - you'll have a wonderful time!
And yes, LINDA - see you in Sept........we can swap more tales of creepy crawlies and mad dogs!

Hi Anne-Marie....I'll be there too!... Hall 2 stand 74. You will love it....everyone's so friendly..its a wonderful show..so well run..and there's alway's such a lovely atmosphere...a real buzz!!

Yep ....... don't forget your bears!!!!!!!
Just remember to relax and ENJOY!!!! The time whizzes by in a flash when you are there as it has a really buzzy atmosphere. You will talk yourself hoarse chatting to all those new customers and fellow bear makers and friends.
Get yourself organised "behind the scenes" with your receipts, bags, float, etc. I only say that because I get way too excited at these fairs and find it takes me an hour or two to "get to grips" with things, particularly if there are a few people looking at your bears at once. That way you can look cool, calm and collected, even if your tum is still churning and you can't think straight or your mind just goes plain blank!!! I talk from experience!!!!! He!
You will have a wonderful time, I will be there as a visitor this year so will come and say "Hi" !! Look forward to seeing you and your lovely bears there!

If you take credit card payments, don't forget to charge up your mobile phone the night before!
Thank you guys.......
I will be in hall 3, stand 113 so even though we are not in the same hall I still hope we will be able to say hi...
I really look forward to see you all there and Marilyn...... I hope I dont forget my bears.....
I would have a very empty table then....

Good grief - I can't believe you are all thinking about Hugglets already - it's not even February yet!!
Seriously, I had better get my butt in gear and start concentrating om making some bears!!! This year I am hoping to have some ceramic sculptures for the very first time - so fingers crossed they come out of the kiln ok.
Ann-Marie, everyone has given you plenty of good advice already - one more tip: pack some sandwiches or snacks. It is quite expensive to eat at the Town Hall and you won't want to be away from your stand for long, anyway, so take something you can nibble on discreetly. Making friends with your neighbours is a must as they will happily mind your stand for you when you need to nip off for a loo break
Above all, relax, and enjoy it - Hugglets is a great show in a good venue. It is always well attended and the collectors are friendly and enthusiastic.
Hugs,
Christine
