While other teddy friends are experiencing snow and cold weather here in Australia, especially where I live in the state of Victoria we are about to have apparently the longest, hottest spell for over 100 years.

The next 4 days are predicted to reach 40+ celcius.   Phew that is darn hot.

We are off to Melbourne tomorrow to see Neil Young, thankfully it is an outdoor venue and hopefully by 8.00pm the grass will be cool to sit on.
I just hope we don't get a thunderstorm.

Dress code for the concert will be comfort ahead of fashion.....

I have seen Neil Yong more times than I can count.  He was my favorite rocker when I was young in the 70's, I saw him again in the late 80's, still just as wonderful.  I am envious,  I would love to see him one more time, I'm sure you will have a great time.  Heat and all.  I go to outdoor concerts here in the summer.  In the desert once the sun goes down it is not so bad.
have a fantastic time

I am looking forward to the concert Joanne, but my husband is the real fan of Neil Young.

We are off again in March to Melbourne to see Chris Isaacs........now I am a super-real fan of his..

Denise - we had a few 40+ days up here in sunny Nowra last week too - try to stay uber-cool in that heat!  Hope there's plenty of shade & cool drinks.  I'm sure you'll enjoy the concert - heat or no heat.

Denise,
You are incredibly brave to go out in that heat.  I disappear to the comfort of my air conditioned house when it hits 30 degrees.  I get so sick when it's hot.  Hope the concert is wonderful - we all love Neil Young in this house.  One of the few artists we all agree on.

We are heading off to the concert this morning, travelling by train.

No hassles about parking the car as well as travelling on the busy highway.

Staying over night in the city and then home again.

Catch you all tomorrow night..

Ok Denise, I was jealous about Neil Young- but times that by 60,000 about Chris Isaak! Love him! I hope they are both fab, I am sure they will be.
Good luck getting into the city on the train bear_original  It's ridiculous how every time its been getting hot lately the trains collapse and they act like it's only to be expected!
I'm up in the Dandenongs and of course with the hot weather comes the worry of bushfires, so I will be really on edge for the next few days bear_sad  Stay cool and enjoy the concert!

Well, I am back and we survived the heat in Melbourne.

We had luck with the trains and ours wasn't cancelled as others were.

The concert was good, very hot, and as we were sitting or standing for the whole night the rear end did get a bit numb.
As people were standing it was hard to see Neil Young but fortunately they had 2 huge screens with camera footage of the show.

Now, I know I should be grateful for being able to see this great artist, but my view was it cost a lot of money to watch him on a large film screen.  However in saying that, the sound was great..

My husband absolutely loved the show as he is the true fan of Neil Young.

Roll on March as the Chris Isaacs show is at the Palais St Kilda, a much better venue.

Not too large and where ever you sit you are close to the stage....

Chris and I saw Neil about twenty years ago, the concert was brilliant, very LOUD, but he played some wonderful classics. We saw Pearl Jam a while back, now that was a fantastic concert!
Glad you made it OK on the trains, I saw the mess on the news last night. We had 37 celcius here in Tas, that was way too hot for me, hoping for a little relief today but it looks like it's shaping up for another hot one  bear_shocked  bear_shocked
