Oh my!  He totally reminds me of a dog we used to have years ago.  He was 1/2 pit bull and nothing was safe - especially shoes.  Actually... one shoe of each pair was safe... he only ate one of a pair.  He was such a character!  But when he was 6 years old, he finally ate a whole porcupine, quills and all, and even the vet couldn't save him from that one.  We miss him....

That's hilarious!!!  We had a Gordon Setter/husky cross that ate the back of our couch - silly husband left him alone in the living room, while chatting with a neighbour, outside.  He looked up and saw Tyler with a HUGE chunk of our couch in his mouth.      It wasn't so funny back then. bear_shocked

Melissa, your story is so sad.  Poor pup! bear_cry

We can't leave our Otis (German Shepherd/Mastiff mix) alone and out of his crate as he has an issue with separation anxiety and tries to chew through the walls. bear_shocked I've had to do some 'so not fun' drywall repair.....doesn't take long at all for those jaws of his to make a big hole! bear_ermm

Thank you for your sympathy about Barkley...      It was a lot of years ago, so time does heal to a degree... he'll never be forgotten though!

I just read your post, I wanted to say how sorry to hear that about your Barkley!  You are right, time does heal the pain of loss. Now you can remember the good times and the love of Barkley!

Thank you Tami!   Yes...  lots of good times to remember.  He was actually a rescue pup - his mom had been left outside in -20 weather with no food/water or shelter & 6 young puppies.  Only Barkley & 3 sisters survived.  He was a very loving dog!  bear_wub
