I can reconsider my australian charities now, after my fears of my auction being pulled for donating to australia and not using a registered charity, eBay has removed my auction for totally different reasons now.....I had in my auction see my about me page for contact details apparently that is a no no...and also that I am taking custom work, but I didn't say I would be listing them on eBay.

I have used the same auction template for over a year now, and this is the first time they have ever said anything about my wording, I see people all the time with their actual email, or links to their email right in their auction, so I have no idea!!!

Oh well, will relist him again tomorrow, will donate privatley without using the registered charity and let my mailing list know that partial proceeds will be donated.

Hugs,
Krista

OMGod, Ebay is so irritating at times!    They are consumed by the fact they might lose a dollar or two.  I'm sorry this happened when Australia needs the money so badly.  I hope you can get the bidders back.

What's really sad Krista is someone had to of turned you in. Some people have nothing better to do with their time I guess.  bear_cry
Of course I will re bid.
Thanks for the heads up.  bear_original

Thanks for your support guys....you are so right Cyndee, eBay doesn't have the man power to police all the auctions, and for something as simple as this to be picked up as in violation I am obviously the victim of someone reporting my auction. I will be relisting him this morning regardless, making the requested changes of course...I hope everyone is as understanding as you Cyndee, I had quite a few watchers, and many emails from collectors wondering where my auction went.

That is so unfortunate, Krista. Cyndee is right - and likely it is someone who is jealous of your phenomenal (and well deserved!) success.

Oh No not at all Christine! I really did research this charity and thought it was legit, so was taken a back with some other comments, I felt like I was getting stomped on for choosing this one, like I  was supposed to know everything that was going on over there, all I knew was that it was a horrific tragic thing and I wanted to help in some way.

I know how people like to report auctions of people not following the rules, who knows why they do it, other than to cause grief for others, so wanted to make it all legit to help others....this was the only thing listed in the charities so like I said after much research chose that charity to help in some way!

This time around with the Kangaroo's auction I decided not to have any charity controversy so will leave it up to the winning bidder where they would like to donate the money at the end...of course I can't put that in my auction but have let my mailing list know, so hopefully that will spread the word! I know from working in rescue that there are two sides to every charity, the ones who support it and the ones who are against what they are doing, it all really depends on what side of the fence you are on.

I agree with you 100%, I am an easy going person,  if someone had a problem with what I was doing I would have loved to have had them let me know instead of messing with my livelihood....after answering responses on this thread to the best of my abilities I have decided the best thing for me is to refrain from participating in conversations on Teddy Talk, I have too much work to do as it is, to get myself stressed over things I can't control. I will still post creations I have made in the for sale section, and if anyone wants to keep up with what else I am up to I am only an email away.

hugs,
Krista

That is too bad, Krista! There seems to be more and more "stupid" ebay rules all of the time. Best of luck with your new auction, your kangaroo is adorable!!

Krista,
First of all don't leave TT! It's one of the best ways we all can communicate. I do know of several persons on eBay that have been responsible for some back-stabbing. But I don't know them to be regular participants in Teddy Talk. The way I found out was that other artists warned me about things they had heard these persons saying to collectors and other artists. There will always be these types of people but I think TT is, by far, the best way to get the honest facts and be able to talk things out. Besides, Krista, the good guys here need you!  bear_thumb

Krista, that would be SO SAD if you left TT! I feel like I've missed something that caused your reaction - but I've been away for a while so might have. I sure hope you will reconsider. TT can take up a lot of time but I hope we will see you pop on here now and again when you have the time. We would all miss you!

Don't worry guys, I don't plan to leave totally, but will refrain from getting involved in any questionable, touchy, subjects, if that means just wishing happy birthday, sending hugs to those in need and posting recent creations so be it.

Edie, nothing huge, just that I don't like to try to do something nice and get chewed out by the people I am trying to help, I know things are raw over a horrific tradgedy, I understand that, but I would much rather spend my time on creating than stressing over upsetting anyone....maybe I am over reacting, but it was a huge shock to see my good deed have such a totally different response.

Hugs,

I think I've caught up on a bit of it now, Krista, from reading another thread. Yes, sometimes it is best to steer clear of things that cause stress. How unfortunate that something you were trying to do to help was treated this way - try to just let it roll off. You know your heart was in the right place! Sending you lots of hugs.
