15" Pepe

When I was asked if I could make a bigger version of Pablo, I wondered about accepting the commission for two reasons which I made clear to my customer, the first was that as with all my bears, I only ever intended making one of the original bear and he had long since sold and the second reason was, my customer would need to understand I wouldn't replicate the original Pablo bear; so although her bear would have the flavour of the original, he had to be a new pattern, a different size and have alternative colouring detail .... which of course then led me to worry if my customer would love her new bear, or whether she would be disappointed because he wasn't the original bear she had seen ... always a tricky aspect of accepted custom orders!

Anyway, cutting to the chase, this is the outcome: Pepe is the new bear and he's 15" ... I haven't resized the original pattern which was about 13", instead I've made a new pattern in a bigger size, but kept the original bear's proportions roughly in mind so he could sit positioned in a similar manner to his little brother.

I'm happy to say my customer is thrilled with her 'big brother' style bear! Phew!
