OK my realistic (I hope) polar bear now has a prototype which I am rapidly stitching cos i can't wait to see it but I have made it a miniature only because I couldn't find any other way of doing it. So supposing all is all right with it how do I go from a size 3 inch up to 12 or bigger?
Hi Clare...I enlarge or decrease my patterns on my printer using the photo-copier. To go from 3inch to 12 inch I would try enlarging it by about 75%. Hope this is of some help, good luck Clare

You also have to remember, if you included the seam allowance in your pattern, you need to remove it, enlarge the pattern and then put the allowance back on or it will end up being massive.
I use my computer program (photo studio ) to increase or decrease my patterns.
I go by eye when I reach the size that I want......haven't done the take off seam allowance though...this works for me.
As it is with designing and being happy with your finished pattern and project it is all trial and error...sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Keep tweeking it until you are completely satisfied...
If you don't have a way to do it on your home printer you can go to your local library and have it enlarged. Take off the seam allowance first to maintain proper proportions
I generally redraw it by eye if i'm scaling the pattern up or down, i would definitely recommend using the photocopier to enlarge it to that scale tho
