Whenever I do a fair I get home and I am itching to make another bear, despite the fact that I have been working flat out for weeks to get ready in time for the show.  I tell myself to take a break but I HAVE to start sewing straight away. I think maybe I am worried if I don't keep going I'll lose my enthusiasm.
Does anyone else do that...or do you take time out after a fair/ web show etc? If find it hard to get back into it if I stop for any length of time.. so I just keep going...anyone else have that problem?

I have two targets for September so I've already cut out and started sewing. I'm definitely a front end person I prefer to be ahead of the game.
I am  excited about my next range though, so it's not a chore at all...................................BUT was I tired yesterday after the show. I virtually sat down and did nothing all day !!!!

On wards and upwards... I hope ! bear_thumb

I'm usually itching to get sewing again right after a show. After talking with the collectors, selling, getting ideas for new designs, etc. I'm full of renewed enthusiasm.

If its a show I've organized however... I have to take a break. I work soooo hard for months leading up to a show that I'm completely exhausted after and have had enough of thinking about bears. It usually takes about a month to get into bear making again.

Usually we take a day off or two off and then we are right back to work.  We are the same as Daphne, I feel so alive and enthused after a show and so full of energy that I don't want to lose that and we start designing and sewing.   Of course we usually have another show right on the horizon so we have to keep going. I think we have three shows within four weeks of one another this fall so we have been working all along getting bears and bunnies done up so we don't have a big rush at the end.  We use to do that and then found it was no fun and was to stressful, so now we set a goal of x number of bears per week to be done and set aside for shows.

big hugs

What a great thread - I too usually find myself inspired by what I've seen at a show and want to rush home and dig out the mohair and start again!  However, I usually find I physically need to 'wind down' after the big 'rush' getting ready and making sure everything has been finished.

A big difference between what I 'want' to do, and what actually happens!!!!!

Yep....I usually find I am buzzing with ideas at times like this.....I just think the exhilaration and adrenaline rush of having done a fair pokes the old brain cells into action. I spent yesterday working on a bear ..and this morning I have been drawing a brand new , totally different pattern...which...when I am in the creative mode I find I can understand shape and form more readily....Maybe when you are in that 'driven' mode you are more receptive. If I ever get into the doldrums I find I have to FORCE myself to do anything away from my safety zone.
It's interesting how our creativity is stimulated ..sometimes my mind is a total blank bear_wacko and at others I have ideas popping every where!!!

I'm the opposite!  I usually take a break for a week and use the week to catch up with admin etc instead.  I always feel a bit burned out straight after a show and need a few days to recharge my batteries, before I can start creating again.
