I have just listed a bear on ebay.  I paid $39.95 for a propack which consists of boarder, highlight, bold, but more importantly featured first, which means you have the opportunity to be on the first page of your catogory, and featured plus which means you are at the top of your page in the featured section.  When I went to check on my bear I noticed there is no featured section.  So being a power seller I get to do live chat.  They told me that for about 5% of ebayers the featured section is not working.  So for any of you who have put out money to be there,  your listing to me and 5% of others will slide down the line just as everyone elses who did not pay the extra money.   I did tell him I thought this should have been addressed openly, and I wanted 5% of my money back.  No reponse to that, just chat is over.

Hi Joanne,
Since Ebay introduced the new search system, the whole setup is one big mess...at least half the sellers featured items are not showing in newly listed, and you look in best match and there'll be a few there, it's so inconsistent, there doesn't appear to be any way to get all the featured items to show up on one page....so now as far as I'm concerned there's no way I would ever featured again, it's just a waste of money....I feel if you pay the extra money, when you click on that category , all the featured listings should be at the top as they used to be...another gripe for me is this new listing page, what the *h---* were they thinking!!!!! it's terrible.......Frankly I've just about had it with them, are they trying to self destruct or something, because people are leaving in droves because of all these ridiculous changes....the whole ebay experience, was once, great fun, now it's a nightmare.

Anyway goodluck with your auction, your bears are fabulous!

Hi Joanne,

I have tried it out on Belgian e-bay; so I typed in my search "mohair artist bear"
I got 35 results ... without your bear : http://shop.benl.ebay.be/?_from=R40&_tr … Categories

At the very BOTTTOM of the page you can click on "alle overeenkomde objecten van internationale verkopers bekijken" which means : see all objects from international sellers matching your search. Then your bear was the second on the list (highlighted) :

I guess that is not really what you paid for !

Thank you Peter , Denise, and Susan,  Peter what I saying is that if you have a featured section when you look at ebay, then I got my money's worth.  But ebay is having technical issues, and many people, like me are not seeing any featured section at all when they search.  I am having problems with firefox, so right now I am using Internet Explorer, and I do notice that when I search with firefox it's there, when I search with explorer, no featured section anywhere on ebay.  I think that many people use explorer, and if it an explorer problem, then it is a lot more than 5% of ebay.

Joanne,
I use Internet Explorer and I can see your featured listing at the top of the page when I search - so it is not all Internet Explorer that has a problem.

Thanks Edie, That does make me feel a little better about the whole thing.

Browsers are the most difficult things to deal with! I have several that I use to test the web pages, to upload things to eBay, Facebook, mail servers etc.
I wish the browser programmers would get busy and make all browsers show the information the same way we design the pages.

I suggest you load a few and then check your eBay listings in them.
One I like is Crazy Browser and Google has one called Chrome
FoxFire is yet another to use too. You can still keep IE as your main browser, but use the others to test or read other pages.

Oh computers!!!!

Bearhugs
