kestrel1.jpgkestreltt.jpg

Some of you may remember that I posted about a baby kestrel that I took to a wildlife rescue a couple of months ago.  I got a call that she was ready to be released.  The kestrel was released in my front yard along with a male that was from Lake Havasu, Arizona.  They couldn't drive the male bird all the way back to Lake Havasu so they decided to release the 2 birds together.  It was really nice to see them circle a while then fly away.  Hopefully, we'll enjoy these birds in our neighborhood for years to come.  Here is a picture of the pair before they were released this morning and the original picture I posted so you can see how much she's grown.

Hugs,
Alison

Alison,
The birds are absolutely beautiful!!!  I only see one picture -  not the early pne when she was a baby.  Funny - I loaded 5 pics on my bear set the other night and when I went back, only one was there plus a comment from an artist.  I reloaded the last four pics okay but then the comment disappeared - weird!

                              hugs,

Janice,
I didn't even notice breakfast!   bear_grin   I was so focused on the birds.  Well, at least we know they were well fed while in their foster mom's care.

Magic!  How wonderful to have been able to watch them being released ...  I would have been crying!   bear_cry

They are such striking birds, gorgeous.  It's so nice to hear of a happy ending so "Well done" to you Alison for
caring about your little bird in the first place, both have obviously been very well looked after.

Wonderful story Alison and well done you!  Glad to see other people caring for our world's wildlife, so many people would not have taken time to save the beautiful baby kestrel. Nice to see both birds being released to live their lives naturally. You must feel very proud of yourself for saving such a beautiful bird.  bear_thumb  bear_thumb
