I use to use glued joints. I used an epoxy and that took forever to dry. Just way too much time.
I like the set screws the best.

How about Bearmaking 101?

Actually there IS a book called Bearmaking 101 by Carol-Lynn Rossel Waugh.  It came out in 1999 and I assume it's still in print.  The subtitle is "An Ins"bear"ational Course".   bear_laugh  bear_laugh   bear_grin  bear_grin

Yeah but I still like the idea of a for Dummies book...  bear_grin

Oh yeah, Bear Making For Dummies..... I'm all for that! But has to have LOTS of pictures!!!

Glued joints?????? NO WAY! Too many steps, to much time... too much of a mess! More stuff to invest in (good glue). Why bother?

I use set screws for the neck and tapbolts for the limbs. No glue necessary. Works easy peasy!

Who asked about LOCK WASHERS? I've never heard of such a thing. What do they look like??

Lock washers look exactly like regular washers, except they are split in one place, and the ends are offset a little bit (one a little up, one a little down) in that spot.

it was me who asked about lock washers. Just wonding if those would work for jointing.

Still a little confused, and I haven't tried this jointing method yet, but I sure do want to.
