What's the difference between a kangaroo and a kangaroot?

One's an Australian marsupial...
The other is a Geordie stuck in a lift

Ummmm . . . don't get it.  I know that a 'lift' is an elevator, but don't know what 'Geordie' is.  I'll google it.

Okay - after looking at several Geordie offerings on google - I still don't get the joke.  'Geordie' has a gazillion different interpretations, from a particular English dialect, to the inhabitant of a certain area of England (Northeastern), to some very -uh- explicit/undesirable/insulting, etc., meanings.  Guess you Brits will understand.
