Well - I totally missed out on the Taiwan Creative Awards, thanks to the international postal services! The Post office here told me 8 to 10 days delivery time........and it's now almost four weeks, and no sign of the poor bear.......I just hope he hasn't been deliberately disappeared, en route.
Ho hum - such is life!

Gee, I remember last year my swap ornament went to taiwan and had the wrong address, took 3 months to come back to me. Sorry that bit of info, hope you see the bear sooner.
Oh Maria, that is just awful news .
Having to miss out on the Taiwan Awards isn't so bad (I think), but not knowing where your lovely bear is, is my worst nightmare .
Have you got any way of tracking the parcel? I really hope and pray that he will soon be found and then I suggest you go to Taiwan yourself to collect him .
Hugs,
Peter
Maria, how terrible
I really, really hope for you that he will be back again soon.
Oh no, hope he appears soon!
Thanks, everyone.........
I'm not panicking yet - bears have taken longer in the post before........but it IS a worry! Last year's bears arrived in Taiwan within the allotted time span.........but the postal services seem to be more and more unreliable these days.
This one didn't have a tracking number - last time I used the service it was on a parcel to Paris........it also was "to be signed for" -
the parcel disappeared, and all the tracking number could tell me was that it has left Germany (a lot of use!!).........and as for "signed for" - it eventually turned up, stuffed into the recipients letter box.
all i can do is keep my fingers crossed................

Oh my, I hope he wil turn up soon!! Fingers crossed!! Does this mean your bear could not participate in the challenge during the show? I mean, voting was on-line, right?
Post is bad here too. I think this is because there is more post delivery service concurence now. And the costum rules are more strict now.. a package I was waiting for from USA was hold by costums for 2 weeks.... before it finally arived.
Hugs,
Berta
Hi Maria,
Oh golly, I am so sorry to hear of your missing bear, I would be distraught if I was to lose a bear like that. I hope
that you soon have good news and your lovely creation reaches its destination.
Hugs
Marilyn
Thanks, Berta and Marilyn........and it is very much just a matter of crossed fingers right now. But I haven't given up hope yet!
and Berta - he missed out totally - the judging in the Taiwan competition is just 10% from the public voting - the rest is up to the jury, and without the bear......no chance! Funny - last year there were no problems with the bears, and I've also sent bears to Japan a couple of times for the TITA competition - again - all went well.............but I do wonder. We are given their postal addresses in "our" alphabet.......does that mean all the posties there can read our alphabet????? I can't imagine that the posties here can cope with the Chinese or Japanese alphabets....
