Boogaloo BearsI hadn't been feeling very well of late (explains why I have not been on the site much) and thought I had a really bad cold - Turns out that I have swine flu!
I am feeling loads better today and have not been in work since Tuesday and will not be able to return until next week, if I am feeling better, so a wonderful day of bear making and daytime tv awaits!!
The one saving grace is that I have been able to complete a miniature Jimi Hendrix bear for my partner for Xmas (we found a tiny Flying V guitar in America 2 years ago and he asked me to make a Hendrix bear - which I never got around to) So will hopefully be a nice surprise on Xmas morning.
I have not had the time to view all of the missed posts whilst I have been poorly, however have scanned some of the wonderful Xmas bears that you have all been making - they are all adorable and hope they find new homes soon.

DoodlebearsOh Lisa, I hope you soon feel much better. That flu can be nasty and hang around a while. I have had the injection, so hopefully I'm covered.

I also had both the flu and swine flu jabs on the 2nd Dec - they don't stop you getting the flu apparently, but you won't get it as bad as you would do if you hadn't had the jab.

I found that interesting that you thought you just had a bad cold. I am starting to wonder now if I had swine flu and didn't know it as I got a really bad cold 3 weeks ago and just kept getting worse and worse instead of better in a few days like usual with a cold. I am just starting to feel better the last few days but still draggy, but I didn't go to the doctor so don't know what I had!

I bet that is what you have had. I have now got a course of tablets to take which should make me feel alot better, just hoping my partner doesn't get it now right on Christmas.

And I've both heard & read that it does take about 2 - 3 weeks for full protection and effectiveness to kick in.

At least you've got DOUBLE protection now; the vaccines and your own built-up immunities.
Just had my H1N1 today, the first day they're available to the general population in metro Chicago.
Hope it'll be working OK at full strength before some surgery 3 weeks from today - that's cutting it too close for comfort!

How is your cough? I've been up all night because my son has coughed all night. Are you still running a fever? If no, when did it finally go away. We're on day 5 of the fever. Cough has increased and now vomiting. I'm really for him to get better NOW. Thi s is getting a little scary!
