As most of you may know I am a passionate lover of MEERKATS.
I have just bought a lovely pattern for a life size MEERKAT from Cheryl Moss of Mossie Bears.
Now I can make my own "Flower"!
Karon
Cool, enjoy!
Can't wait to see it done Karen!
Louise
Fabulous, I love meerkats too! Please show us Flower when she's all finished.

Lisa,
YOUR meerkat is just superb - I really admire your work, you have an absolutely fantastic eye for detail and form and yet still manage to give your animals an endearing expression.
I think meerkats have to be one of the most adorable creatures of all time. I first fell in love with them MANY years ago in a documentary which I think was voiced by David Attenborough called "Meerkats United". Later there was a follow up called "Meerkats Divided" about all the hierachy in the group breaking down. Then of course the fabulous Meerkat Manor.
I was really pleased therefore to find Cheryl's pattern. Trouble is once you start can you leave it at just one Meerkat - after all they are not solitatory animals!!!
I love Meerkats also and loved the show on Animal Planet.
I lost sight of it afterwhile, channel changes, too long to explain.
How did you get that pattern? I would love to get it also.
can't wait for the swap.
take care and can't wait to see Flower also.
Karon,
Thank you for your kind words.
I'm right there with you. I adored the Natural World programmes 'Meerkats United' and the follow up 'Meerkats Divided'. How can a person not fall in love with these animals? They are just so sweet. I've been enjoying the recent mongoose series too, but Meerkats still rule for me.
I wish that were me being used as a vantage point.
I think I might have to make some more of these guys now.
Regards
Lisa

Contact Cheryl Moss at cheryl@mossiebears.com and she will tell you how to arrange payment then she will forward it to you on your computer.
I found her to be extremely efficient.
Lisa:
What can I say, thankyou so much for forwarding the picture - wonderful!!! When you see pictures of them like that it puts their size into perspective. Some times it is hard to believe they are only 12inches tall when you watch the programmes.
I love the Bandit Brothers - they are SO gorgeous.
As a fellow Meerkat fan can you tell me what happened to TOSCA, Flower's naughty daughter who was cast from the group for daring to get pregnant - I must have missed a couple of episodes and never saw her departure. She was living on the outside of the group by herself.
Karon
I adore meerkats and many is the time my husband has come home from work to find me in tears because I have been watching Meerkat Manor. They obviously have a huge influence on my work because more that one person has said that my bear faces remind them of meerkats! I would love to design a meerkat when I have a little time and maybe we could have some meerkat coverage in Teddy Bear Times.

I remember reading one of Chris's articles and he said about coming home to find you crying over"one missing. Contract presumed not renewed".
Can we have some more of Chris's "Living with a Bear Artist" - they used to have me in stitches (oh dear what a pun!).
Karon
That's a really good point Karon......................I too loved those articles...................do I remember pins and a certain part of the anatomy ??????????
I know they always made me laugh out loud
Can't wait to see!
lol - Ok - I will make sure that Meerkats get their place in Teddy Bear Times - as for Chris and those articles, I really don't think that most people realise just how true they are! Yes, I really am that chaotic. Maybe I should get him to write something about living with a Magazine Editor and how the fluff all over the house has been joined by sheets of paper. Also how he gets asked to read through several articles as he steps in from work. Hmmmmmmmm - I think he might enjoy that one!

I remeber one story about when Chris came downstairs in the early hours of morning in the dark and went sliding along the floor on I think an empty pin tray. I roared with laughter as I've been there and they way he wrote it, I could seein my minds eye.
Karon
Meerkats are so sweet... I love them too!
I'm looking forward to seeing yours when it's finished!
