I keep reading these posts being tossed back and forth between California and the UK and I'm wondering -- and too lazy to look it up -- what time is it in the UK? How far apart are out timezones?
It's 3:30 in the afternoon here. Very rainy and dismal. Just cost me $125 to get my stupid air conditioning repaired. AARGH!
Hi Shelli!
It's 11.42pm in England right now, and my husband's moaning that I've tapped on the keyboard all through the evening film, so I'd better catch some Zzzzzzzzzzzzs............
Speak soon!!!!!!

Okay, so doing some rudimentary math, I'm getting that you're eight hours ahead. Which means that, by now -- I went away from the computer for a bit -- I'm probably talking to myself.
Typical.

Night night at 10:26, Kirsten? I know you're in my time zone (PST) and thought you were still a YOUNG person! And you don't even have the "school day" excuse since it's summer vacation. Eek! :P:lol::D
I'm off to bed... soon...
It's 11:58. Yes, a night owl; that's me!
And Sweden is 1 hour ahead of London. Like Paris..
Its not school vacation for ME! I have 2 more weeks to teach. That's why.."night night" at 10:26 :P
I also had surgery last week and am still worn out...
Hi Kirsten, sorry to hear abut you had
the surgery last week.
I hope you are getting better soon.
You still have 2more weeks to go, so
until then I agree that

Yeah, I'm sorry to hear that too. I want to be nosy and ask what it was for -- hey, you brought it up! -- because I am enamored of all things medical; it's one of those one-shot-learning subjects for me (as a teacher, I know you know what I mean.)
Hope you're well on the mend ASAP.
Actually, my hubby and I want to start a family (not the bear or pet kind) and its been a struggle. So after a lot of prayer, we decided to see a specialist and found that I had a growth on my ovaries. So last week they went in and removed it. 3 incisions and a soar bloated belly later, I am apparently all clean out! Hopefully I will have a pregnant belly next year to use as a shelf as I sew my bears!
Oh, I hope so too, Kirsten!! After 10 years without success I FINALLY had exploratory surgery and well, the bottom line is no kids for us. I have not been able to talk my hubby into adopting.... YET!!! He's decided at 43 he's too old and set in his ways to become a father. UGH!!! That's what I get for marrying an 'older man' (by 8 years.) I hope and pray God will bless you with your very own little miracle! I'm sure the possibility now is very exciting for you!! :)
Shelli, I've been wondering about the time thing too! This page might help you: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/. The UK is 8 hours ahead of you.
G'night!
Daphne
Kirsten, I join my prayers to yours and the others here. God Bless you in your desire for a family. :)
Gentle Hugs,
Kirsten, I will send my prayers to you .
and for other Ladies and Gentleman here :)

Many good vibes are going your way, Kirsten!!
Kirsten
I wish i had read this posting before i sent you the details for making me an avatar - you should have said that you were still recovering from the operation Kirsten.
Don't worry about the avatar until you feel better sweetheart
I bet you'll have no problems getting pregnant once you recover from this operation Kirsten - i shall keep my fingers crossed for you both.
Penny
Me too. Sending warm and hopeful thoughts, I mean.
While I'm sure there will be plenty of mourning for you both if physiology doesn't ultimately work in your favor, adoption is TRULY a real and viable option. One of my very best college girlfriends is bringing home twin daughters from China in just a few weeks! I can't begin to tell you how excited she and her husband are... So, however it unfolds, it all works out.
Hugs,
Best of luck, Kirsten, let's hope!! :D
And Daphne, tell your husband he's just a kid at 43!! My husband was 44 when we had our youngest, and he had the time of his life with little Alexandra. Still does with big Alexandra.
Like a lot of things, Daddying is actually easier when you're older and wiser.
Eileen
Kirsten and Daphne,
My prayers are with you both.
Daphne, a little story for you. I have some friends who had been trying to have children for 8 years. They finally decided to adopt this pretty little 2 yr. old girl. Shortly after the adoption process began, they found out that they were going to have their own baby. In February the adoption was finalized and a few weeks later their baby girl was born. They now have two pretty little girls and are as happy as can be.
Yes, my Mum was trying for 6 years before she became pregnant with my brother. Guess what? 7 months after my brother was born, she became pregnant with twins! My sister and I LOL.
So never give up hope!
Danni
Oh, I believe in miracles alright and have definitely heard of times folks have adopted and then right around the same time become pregnant. My cousin has been trying desparately for 4 years to get pregnant, gone all the artificial routes without success. I told her she'd get pregnant but to quit trying so hard as she was always getting herself in quite a mental state over it all and the expenses.... wow! Well, a few months after they quit trying, she resigned to being childless and began to relax, she got pregnant!! Yippee!!! I'm not going to be as lucky BUT, I know God has a plan and all will come to be in His time. Not that patience is my strong point!!
Danni, you have a twin... how cool!!! As an only child I think having a sibling would be wonderful as I get older and my folks get older and life throws you things you wish you had a sibling there to share it with. Not that all siblings have close relationships. Anyway, rambling here..... Any cool TWIN stories to share?
Hey, Thanks for your sweet thoughts and stories!
Not many people know we are trying to have a baby (and finding it not so easy), but this bear family is so special to me. You girls are a great support system.;)
We've only been seeing a specialist for 6 months and this surgery was to eliminate anything else which may be interferring. I trust solely in God for a child and patience is not my strong points either. I know He has a plan, BUT I sure wish I knew what it was! :P
Daphne, I will keep you in my prayers. Its amazing how hard it can be to get pregnant while some people can look at each other and practically get pregnant!
We have definitely thought about adoption, hubby is great with the idea. There are some good Christian adoption places in the US and in China and Russia.
Great big bear Hugs! XOXO
My brother an his wife have three adopted children...all from Ethiopia. They are SO adorable!!!
Kirsten and Daphne...I'll say a prayer for you both too. Sometimes it's hard to understand why things happen that seem unfair, but you just have to trust that God knows what he's doing and He knows how you feel..... have faith, and it will all work itself out. He knows your hurts.;)
Hugs and prayers for you both,
Hayley
