Good luck to everyone that's entered the Brewins' Bruins Teddy Awards today.  Does anyone have any idea how we'll hear the results if we're not at the fair? (Alas the 900+ mile round trip for me would have been a bit of a killer!)  I really hope there will be a list of the people that placed in all the categories and some photos put online somewhere  bear_original   As it's my first ever competition I'm not expecting to get anything, but I'd love to see what beat me  bear_thumb

Aww, sorry Sue   It doesn't say anywhere on the entry information about how the winners will be announced, just that bears would be available for collection from 3:45 onwards.  Oh well!

Hello!
I read here, and keep looking around even though I haven't really posted much since my first lot of bears.
But after reading the opening post by Katy I just had to check where the fair was being held, and it was right on my doorstep!  Well, about an hours drive, but going through the new forest is lovely.
My first bear fair and I must say all the entries were absolutely gorgeous!  My boyfriend was stunned at the amount of work that goes into bear making and how small some of the bears were.
Well done to all those who entered, unfortunately we couldn't stay to the end as we had a bbq to get to and needed to detour for some new forest ice cream while we were nearby so I also have no idea who won, but good luck!

I don't have a frame either............I did email Emelia from Higgys Bears as she was having a stand but she said the PA was so difficult to hear that someone had to give her a nudge because she got 3rd in cat 5 and she didn't hear

LOL Sue!!!!
No wonder we haven't heard anything if they couldn't hear the PA system actually at the show??!!
How on earth was poor Katy supposed to hear way up in Scotland??!!  bear_grin

I think my nerves have all gone now, not so much frazzled away as packed up and gone home in disgust  bear_laugh  Maybe we should e-mail her?

Pandora-2.jpgHi guys,
I was exhibiting at the fair and you just couldnt hear who won as the PA was not very good.
Also the fair didnt have a good turn out at all - we think everyone was down at the beach, so it was very disapointing... especially for me as it was my first fair!  never mind....

We were told that the results willl be confirmed on their website:
http://www.brewinsbruins.co.uk/home/the … wards-2010

I expect that they will up date their website today with all the info... but I didn't win in my category, I entered this little girl called Pandora.......

LOL Susan!! PA to Portugal?...... Hmmmmmm?.....
But did you buy a frame?!!

Nicky, Treacle's gorgeous & sorry your first experience of a fair was a bit disappointing? My first was at Hove at the end of last year & was the same for me but I still think it's good to start somewhere? Don't give up on them as your bears are lovely?!
Hugs,

Nicky, it was my first too, but not as a seller - I mainly went for a nosey around as I'd never been before  bear_grin   Like Julia says don't get too disheartened your bears are gorgeous and having seen them in person now they're even lovelier in real life!
Pandora is beautiful, my boyfriend was rather taken with your little bears and loved the eyes!
It was rather a hot day so probably people chose to do other things, though saying that.. my bf asked his work colleague if he'd heard about the bear fair (and he lives very close) and he said no!  bear_shocked

Try not to get disheartened by your first fair..............I am well documented on here, my first fair went so well I ended the day on a minus £'s (the cake too tempting) Did not sell a thing  bear_grin

I have never looked back from that first one, I go to meet collectors, socialise and if I am lucky I sell one or two.

Your bears are really sweet and have real appeal, so keep going

Katy, I loved Beech who looks great even after swimming all that way?!! bear_grin
Because I'm not totally with it at the moment, (I go into hospital on Wednesday), I can't remember which category I entered?! I haven't heard anything though so I don't expect I got anywhere either? Just have to arrange to get my little one back again now.......
Hugs,
