Hi dear friends,

Last week I showed you two teddies that I adopted at the Stratford show.
The bears that are featured in this post were not adopted at the show !  But they did come home with me on my return to Belgium.

The first one is a teddy I bought in the giftshop of Shakespeare's birthplace.  Can you really imagine me seeing this lovely "Shakesbear" and resisting the temptation ?  Methinks not.  bear_laugh   He is not an artist bear; he is mass manufactured by the Great British Teddy Bear Company LTD (www.gbteddybear.com), but I still think he is quite adorable.

These next two gorgeous pandas were made by Dawn James (Hugs Unlimited).   I met Dawn and her husband Chris after the show for a cup of coffee and pastry and we had a lovely chat about all sorts of beary things.  To cut a long story short, Dawn made me an offer I couldn't refuse and before I knew it I was holding these two darlings in my arms  bear_laugh .  Jack is about 20" tall and Jill somewhat smaller; they are quite heavy and very huggable.  So a big THANK YOU Dawn for offering this lovely pair to me.  bear_thumb

I hope you like them as much as I do.

Next week the final part will appear, which I like to call "the really big ones"  bear_whistle .

Hugs,

Oh they are all so wonderful.  The pandas are perfect together.  It is nice they cold always stay together.  And the little guy Shakesbear is so adorable in his clothing.  What a wonderful find.  I always love the way you photograph them, really makes them come alive.

Oh I love those Pandas. A hugs unlimited bear is on my shopping list for the next couple of years. They are beautiful. And how lovely that you got to share a coffee with Dawn and gain these as part of that!
Have to admit I saw the Shakespeare bear myself... 20% on that day too wasn't it? I nearly brought one home myself but having just spent quite a bit at the fair I though I'd best rein myself in. Wished I'd bought him now though, he looks wonderful! Maybe next year.
Thanks for the photos Peter. Although I can't possibly believe they get bigger. I can only imagine Paula, Barling or Pawtrait are involved? Oh don't tell me you got a Pawtrait. Could you have got that back to Belgium!?!?

My photos don't really do justice to Dawn's bears, because they are quite heavy and really very very huggable.  I am sure you would love them.  bear_wub

An excellent excuse to go back next year !  bear_laugh

A very good guess : the one bear by Paula that I really fancied (Gustav) was snatched away by you, if I recall correctly  bear_cool .
Pawtrait Bears : I already have one of Brigitte's gorgeous bears and for the moment that suffices.
Barling Bears ....   mmmmh, could be.
Wait and see next week !

just how many bears do you have??  Have you ever thought of publishing a book of your collection - with your talent for photography I would be lining up to buy it.

Thanks Peter. Perspicacious is something I've never been called before but I shall take it and wear it with pride! hehe.
I have to admit I had a brief hug with Dawn's big furry fella and was sad to put him down, he had a real feel to him.
And sorry for stealing Gustav, I raced for that fella hehe. He's very comforably sat on my bed though, and very well treated (better treated than myself hehe). Can't wait to see Part 3.
Though I'm with Clare, how many bears are in your hug now? How do you store/display them all?

Aww - thank you everyone for your lovely comments about the pandas. I just knew that they would be happy with Peter. I like to make bears that are reminscent of childhood and love it when they are hugged and cuddled regularly rather than put in a cabinet.

I truly believe that the feel of a bear is as important as the look.

Hugs

Dawn

Aww, what a great little find with the Shakesbear (you seem to share my parents' taste for terribly punny bear names  bear_laugh ).  Love the two pandas too.  I must be the only one that can imagine where you'd keep them all though, but then I did grow up in a house with a couple of hundred bears (there's more now since I left home  bear_grin )
