I want to make a bear (quite small) but with a BIG head compared to the body - kinda anime in construction, but wondered, how do you joint the head so it's not all wobbly and too heavy for the body to hold....?

Any advice welcomed...xxx

I have made an anime style bear and I jointed it normally and it did not fall over. So I think you will be o.k. But if you are making the head super big with a tiny body than I think putting weights or pellets inside the body to weigh it down should do the trick.

If you use cotter pins and discs, perhaps a smaller disc inside the head and a larger one inside the body?  This would give the head something to "rest on"?

I do mine with grub screws and weight in the bottom of the body and the feet (in case I want him to stand) and I've had no problems. If you use a cotter pin in the neck I'd recommend getting it pretty tight.
