My girlfriend had this teddybear a long time ago and I am hoping I can find it again for her. She had it when she was a young girl in Brazil. Any help would be appreciated. Here is the pic:

I'm not sure you will be able to find many people who will click on a random link on this site from someone with only one post. It is an invitation to a computer virus. If you are a serious person wanting to know the identification of an antique bear, I would recommend posting an actual picture of the bear to this site.

Posts: 5Would really appreciate any help with this. She was probably between 5-7 in that pic...so that's around 1980. If anyone can find out for me who makes this teddy bear or knows where I can find it I would be willing to offer a handsome incentive :)

Since nobody has jumped in and offered even a guess as to the maker, I'm going to go ahead and say that it's going to be very difficult to name one.
Your girlfriend's bear is sweet, but it's not the kind that most people collect. It was probably produced in a factory that was contracted to produce X number of bears following a certain pattern. The bear is not recognizable (to me at least) as the product of a particular maker.
Have you tried browsing on ebay? There are thousands of bears listed there, and even if you only see something similar, that might lead you in the right direction.

PennsylvaniaCould it be a carnival Bear? You see a lot of Bears like that which come from carnivals, fairs and amusement park midways.
If it is, there's no telling who made it. There are literally hundreds of companies out there which make Bears and plush animals for carnivals. Companies that make carnival prizes pop in and out of business, or retool and make other products, almost on a weekly basis.
Ivyworks ArtistryIt does resemble a carnival or midway bear, so it may be difficult to find. As an alternative, have you considered having a bear similar to it made? Teddy Talk has many wonderfully talented ladies that could try and replicate the bear, or make something as close to it as possible. Just an idea in case you aren't able to track down the bear. Hope this helps.

PennsylvaniaGo to the Gallery forum and look at all the Bears that forum members have made and pick a couple-three Bearmakers whose work you like.
Then you can send them a Private Message via this forum and ask them if they are available to work.
Tell your Bearmaker what you would like to have made and give as much detail as they need so that she understands what you want. Pictures are good. You've already got a picture so you're half way home.
You'll have to negotiate a price. I can't really help you there. That kind of information is private between you and your Bearmaker. You'll have to work that part out yourself.
Be prepared to pay a deposit. It is common to pay half the Bear's adoption fee up front with the rest paid upon completion but before the Bear is sent. You might also have to pay separate shipping, especially if you want the Bear to arrive via express delivery. Again, this is something you need to negotiate with your Bearmaker. You need to remember that she is going to need to buy fabric, stuffing and other materials for your Bear. She's going to have to spend money on gas for her car to go to the store or pay shipping charges to have goods mail ordered to her. You have to help her cover those expenses or else she won't be able to get your project off the ground.
The next part all depends on how busy your Bearmaker is. Some people are busy and they might have other projects ahead of yours. You'll have to wait your turn. Some people have other jobs or they are busy keeping house and things like that. It might take anywhere from a week to a month for your Bear to be finished. Maybe longer. Maybe less. It all depends. Patience is key.
So, when the Bear is finished, your Bearmaker will send you a picture. You'll get a chance to approve or ask for minor adjustments. Once approved, you pay the rest of the adoption fee plus shipping, if necessary, and your Bear will arrive in a few days.
That's pretty much all there is to it. :)
The important thing is that YOU need to pick out your Bearmaker. Every person has a different artistic style and they might interpret your Bear differently, according to their style. You need to pick a person whose style you like best. That way you get the Bear that you will be happiest with.
You might get a message from somebody who will say, "I can make that Bear for you" but, the bottom line is, you'll still have to make the decisions and negotiate prices and terms between yourselves. Business dealings are private information that are not privy to the public unless both parties agree.
Look around. You'll find a Bearmaker who can create a new Bear for you!
