Hi all,
I have worked with polymer clay for a long time now, and have just started making bears not too long ago. All of my bears have had embroidered noses (both big and mini) and I was wondering...
I am thinking about trying a polymer clay nose. If I do decide to go that route, how to I secure it to the bear? I can make a nose, but do I need to/ should I put a wire loop on the backside and attach it like I would glass eyes, or how do I attach it?
Any suggestions or tips would be great!
thank you guys in advance!!
Beary warm wishes,

Kim, you can use glass eye with the wire loop to secure nose just like you do eyes. I use also glue.
I think I read Shelli's suggestion on other board, to use two wire rings.
You also can use nail and it's the securiest way I know.
Just insert it before baking and that's all. Then joint it like you joint arms or legs...

I think you'll have whole bunch of suggestions over here!
Kim, there is a forum entitled "Reference Library". In it, you will find a thread on nose finishes. Click on it, then click on the title 'Attaching Noses' . . . it will give you some info.
Hi Kim
I make my polymer clay noses by fitting them around the stuffed nose to make sure they fit and look correct. I then bake them according to the manufacturers directions and once cooled I use a good glue and glue them on. None have come off so far!!!!

Thank you all for your great advice! I did check out the Reference Library, and along with the tips I got here, am on my way to trying out a cute little polymer clay nose!
Thanks again!
