I've just bought a Singer Featherweight 221 that is two years older than me.  It is a dream.  It is SO quiet. It is small and light.   The stitches are beautifully even.  The machine is so easy to operate...and it looks fabulous with its black paintwork and gold trim.  Classic.  I bought it as a backup for when my Bernina 1008 goes in for its annual service...now I'm thinking maybe I should use the Bernina as the backup instead.  I just LOVE this machine.  I wish I'd bought one years ago. 

I think I'm starting to understand how some men feel about their cars!

I know just how you feel, Sue, and our little sewing machines have a much smaller carbon footprint than any car.

    I also love my Feather weight machine, I bought it about a year ago.  Its the way to go, so small and perfect in every way.

Ooo, have fun with it, Sue! I've been wanting a Featherweight for a few years, and hubby said the other day that he was wanting to buy one for me for my birthday. Sadly, we don't have the money for it, but I was so touched that he wanted to do that.   Maybe next birthday!
